Practice for Recovery of Asphalt Binder from
Solution Using the Rotary Evaporator

Construction Details
The main components of a rotary evaporator are

• New and improved model with variable speed system and DC motor
• The apparatus consists of an evaporating flask rotated by
non‑sparking electric motor in heating water bath.
• The entire drive unit with electric motor is clamped in " V shaped "
heavy duty stand.
• The water bath in the assembly is, the heated fluid bath
(Thermostatically controlled water bath) to heat the sample.
• The evaporating flask is pear shaped to give a large surface area for
evaporation.
• The evaporating flask is clamped to a glass duct, which goes
through the drive unit and produced into the condenser, is fitted with
B‑19 joint, through which introduction tube is inserted.
• The introduction tube permits continuous feed of the liquids into
evaporating flask and also distillation under controlled atmosphere.
• Vapor glass duct, that is the axis for sample rotation, and is a
vacuum‑tight conduit for the vapor being drawn off of the sample.
• A condenser ‑ with either a coil passing coolant, or a "cold finger"
into which coolant mixtures such as dry ice and acetone are placed.
• A condensate‑collecting flask at the bottom of the condenser, to
catch the distilling solvent after it re‑condenses.
• Condensate flask ‑ 1 liter of corning glass With ball point
socket.
• A mechanical jack mechanism to quickly lift the evaporation flask
from the heating bath.
• Vacuum pump, digital controller for water bath, moisture trap
etc. are provided at extra cost. (See optional Accessories)

Commercial Terms & Conditions :-

1. Validity : 30 days from the date of quotation.

2. Price : Free delivery. Unloading at your place and placing in the laboratory will be out of our scope
3. Delivery : Within 6 to 8 Weeks after receipt of technically and commercially clear firm order in writing.
4. Payment : 30% advance, balance against proforma invoice before dispatch.
5. Warranty : The offered Item/s is warranted for ONE YEAR from the date of supply for any inherent, manufacturing defect, if any, on the
part of manufacturer. The defects due to power fluctuation, improper earthing, false operation of machine, over loading etc. will not be
covered under this warranty.
6. Commissioning : Free commissioning at your laboratory for the complete package order as per above offer. In case of part order,
commissioning charges will be extra and will be confirmed on knowing the items ordered. The free commissioning will be for one time only.
All Civil/electrical/mechanical and other related jobs associated with commissioning will be out of scope.
7. GST : Extra as Applicable.
