1. Observe Silence

Art galleries are never the place to use our outside voice. Most people would go to art galleries to
find peace, but it can be challenging with children yelling or people talking about topics
unrelated to art at the top of their lungs.

2. Hands off the artwork

Keeping our hands to ourselves is a basic rule. Poking or touching may damage all the artwork.
Especially in paintings, oils in our hands may lessen their life expectancy.

3. Don't bring bulky bags

Due to safety reasons, bringing huge bags can unexpectedly damage the paintings while walking
around or taking selfies with the artworks in the galleries. Stealing expensive art is also a
possibility. Also, bringing a lot of things can be a distraction from fully appreciating art.

4. Follow photography rules

A photography rule that we should follow is to avoid using flash. It can distract the people
admiring the art around you, and the light emitted might damage the older paintings. Another
rule is to avoid using a selfie stick to avoid hitting other people.

5. Focus on the art

Focus on the art. Why are we going to these galleries and exhibits if we are not going to admire
them? Take your time, look around, and focus on them. Those artworks are available online but
seeing them in person takes it to another level, and we can see different details and textures.
