 1.Describe the house / flat you live in.

My family lives in a 9-storeyed building, which is situated near the city center. There
is a school, several shops and a bus stop not far from the house.
We have an elevator in our communal entrance hall. We live on the seventh floor,
that’s why we’re glad that we needn’t to walk up.

Our flat is very spacious and cozy. It has three rooms: my parents’ bedroom, my
room, a living room. It also includes a kitchen, a hallway and a bathroom. Our flat is
provided with all modern conveniences: cold and hot  water, electricity and central
heating.

A living room is the biggest one in our flat. It has a long table with several chairs
round in the middle. There is a sofa with two arm chairs from the other side. The floor
is covered (каверд)with a beautiful carpet with patterns(патенс). The pictures are
hanging on the walls.

My parents’ bedroom is cozy and spacious. There is a bed with two dressing tables
and small lamps on each of them.

My room is the smallest one. It’s very comfortable and bright. It has a desk, an
armchair, a wardrobe and a bed. My wooden shelves are overflowed with books,
because I like to read. There is also a computer on my desk.

Our kitchen is big enough. In the middle it has a dining-table with chairs. Our kitchen
is well-equipped. It has a toaster, a food processor, a microwave and a coffee maker.
We like to spend evenings with my family in our kitchen, to drink tea and talk.

I like my flat very much as it is one of some places, where I feel peaceful.

 3. Speak about the house of your dreams.✅

I am sure every person in the world has ever dreamed about his or her ideal house. I
am not the exception. (Ексепшн)
House of my dreams  would be on an island in the tropics. It would be near the beach
and had a huge balcony overlooking the ocean. I will definitely be happy to live in the
heart of the picturesque landscapes. My house would be a two-storey cottage with a
wonderful exotic garden in front of the house and there would be a lot of different
flowers and fruit trees. I will have a garage for my car as well. By the car I will be
able to commute to work, go shopping or just travel with my family wherever our eyes
lead us.
My perfect house will have at least six rooms in it: bright  kitchen, a big bath, two
cozy bedrooms, an office with a workplace, and spacious living room. In bedrooms
there will be big comfortable beds with bedside tables .In the office there will be many
interesting books in bookcases. The living room is going to be the most visited place
in the house, there all the family could get together and share some news or just have a
fun time. In addition, in my ideal house there would be an attic, where we can make a
home cinema or a fun room.
Behind my house there would be a swimming pool with a few hammocks. We will
also have a sport center where we could do exercises every day to keep fit or just play
different team sports, such as volleyball, basketball, football and more.
My perfect house would be big and cozy, lovely and beautiful. I would really enjoy
living in it. But it is only my dream… I should bring it to life.
 4. Nowadays many people live in unusual houses. Give examples of some
dwellings which are out of the ordinary and speak about their advantages and
disadvantages.

It seems that these days more and more people want to live somewhere special and
out of the ordinary, and if they can’t buy what they want they are quite prepared to
build it from scratch.

There are two types of unusual houses which are quite common nowadays. These are
the castle-houses and tree-houses.

The fans of the medieval period create  castles which look like some ancient
monuments and bring them back to those times. It’s a real fairy-tale. The houses
usually have a lot of the features of a traditional castle, including a keep, a moat and a
drawbridge. Therefore, they are quite protected. Although some would say that the
building is impractical and may be cold in harsh British winters, the owners are sure
that they have got a unique and spacious home.
If a castle-house doesn’t appeal to you, how about living in the tree tops? Dan Garner,
a tree surgeon, certainly thinks that this is the way to go up in the world. When his
family became short of space at home their solution was to build a luxury tree house
in the garden. The tree house is built into a spruce tree six metres above the ground. It
has one main room, a bedroom and a balcony running around two sides. Garner is so
happy with this practical extension to the home that he thinks he can convince more
people of the benefits of living in the trees. He wants to set up his own enterprise to
make more deluxe tree dwellings. As tree houses are airy, secure and comfortable, the
only disadvantage is that they might not be suitable for people who suffer from hay
fever or a fear of heights.
Moreover, some people install some extraordinary sculptures on the roofs. The
example is a long fiberglass shark which appears to have crashed the roof of the house
in Headington of one famous writer Bill Heine. At first some people complained that
it might be dangerous or that it spoilt the look of the neighbourhood, but engineers
checked that the sculpture was safe and the ‘Headington shark’ has become a well-
known and popular landmark.
It seems that no matter where you live, you can always do something to make sure
your house says something about who you are.

 5. Describe a celebrity. Speak about their age and appearance. Mention what he
/ she is famous for.✅
Keanu Reeves is a talented Hollywood actor and a very good person with
such creativity and personal qualities that it is nearly impossible not to admire them.

Keanu Reeves(кіану рівз), is a 58 years old Canadian(кенейдіан)actor who found

his greatest success in comedy, science-fiction, and action movies.
Keanu has quite unusual and attractive appearance. He has got an oval face and thin
black eyebrows, deep brown eyes. Aquiline (аквалайн) nose, high cheekbones,
intense gaze, deep husky voice are the highlights of his appearance.
He has small brown eyes and short, black, straight hair.

In 1985, Keanu made his first film appearance in the Canadian crime movie, One Step
Away.
If you're a movie fan, then you've most definitely seen Reeves in action, whether it be
in a comedy, drama, or just nonstop warfare.
Of course it is necessary to mention his brilliant performance in the Devil’s Advocate.
Reeves stars as young advocat Kevin Lomax who has never lost a case.

In addition to being an accomplished actor, Keanu Reeves also seems like a really
good person. His random acts of kindness include secretly donating large sums of
money to children's hospitals.

6. Describe your parents and siblings. Speak about their age, appearance and
personality.

are very loving and care for me always. My father is Sergei and my mother is
Luda. My father has his own business , he repairs cars.. He is 45 y.o. In this
age, he is really strong and healthy. The most important thing behind
this good health is a regular workout. He goes to the gym and does a
proper workout. Most of the time he wakes me up early in the morning
and takes me to a morning walk. I really enjoy this He is a very kind and
hardworking person. He loves me very much and takes care of all my needs.
Sometimes he brings beautiful gifts for me. He takes me out and fills my life
with happiness and joy He is a businessman and spends most of his time in his office,
but after all, he loves to spend time with me and my mother. My mother is an
accountant and is very clever. She is 41 y.o. She takes great care of the house
and cooks tasty food for all of usShe wakes up early in the morning and
starts working in the kitchen. She washes clothes, cleans the whole
home, cooks food for us.

She is like a superwoman. I can’t even imagine doing so many works like
her. She is really impressive. After doing so many works, she never
complains. She is always happy. Especially when she finds me happy, she
is the happiest.  I am very dear to my parents. I love and respect them very
much too. I do not know what to do without my parents. When I grow up I too
will take care of them.

o 7.. Describe yourself. Speak about your appearance and personality.

I’d like to tell you a few words about my appearance. I’m quite tall , In terms of
appearance, I take after my mother. I’m quite happy about that, because she is a
beautiful woman and she looks rather young. I’ve got a middle blonde hair and big
brown eyes. My hair is straight and quite thick,As for my hair, I like wearing it in

some hobbies. I’m always very busy but when I’m free I like
to read books. I think books help me to continue my
education. In my opinion, books are a source of new and
useful information. I enjoy reading books about life of famous
people, but I hate reading detectives. I think it’s just a waste
of time.

 8. Appearances are deceitful. Do you agree with the proverb?

This is a popular proverb that warns us that we should not believe in things and
persons merely by their appearances for they are often deceptive
In my opinion, the proverb appearances can be deceptive cannot be taken as 100%
true. It has a mixture of both good and bad. Good people for sure look good, At the
same time, bad ones also wear the guise of good people, knowing that their appealing
appearances would have a sway over the onlookers.
This is a popular proverb that warns us that we should not believe in things and
persons merely by their appearances for they are often deceptive. We are living in an
age of pomp and show. Everybody is fascinated by the outer appearances. Nobody
cares to know what actually is behind the curtains. Cunning people take advantage of
such people.
Advertizing companies make very interesting and attractive advertisements. Producers
of the products do not care for the quality of the products they only care for the quality
of the wrapper. Showy and attractive wrappers fascinate the public but when they use
it they regret. In the same manner outer beauty and beautiful dresses also attract the
shallow people, sometimes people are deceived by them.
When we meet someone for the first time, we make a judgment based on his external
appearance. Our judgment may be wrong. It is just like a wrapper on a chocolate or a
gift wrapped, unless and until you don't remove the wrapper you cannot guess what is
in the package. After consuming or using the product only you can judge whether you
have got true value for the product.
Hence this proverb is a warning and guides us that we should never arrive at any
conclusion about a person in the first meeting. A few encounters will enable us to
understand the person. It's better to stay neutral until the moment when you can say
for sure that you know this or that person very well to say he is a person who deserves
or doesn't deserve faith, understanding or attention.  So, never judge people by
appearances, because appearances are deceptive!

 9. Speak about your last holiday.

When the exams are over, my boyfriend and I start looking for places to spend our
vacation.we  need to take a break from work and exams. So we decided to go to
Egypt.. I was so excited about our journey that while packing my suitcase I forgot to
take a swimsuite with me.When me and my boyfriend arrived at the airport, I found
out that our flight was delayed for 4 hours. I was so angry that we had to wait at the
airport! What was worse, when we finally got at the board, someone took our seats.
Arline company has sold tickets twice for the same places, unbelievable! However,
the flight attendant solved this issue quickly and we were seated at the business class
instead. The flight was extremely tiring, so when we finally got to our destination, we
wanted to relax after this hard day. But it was not the end:  out our suitcase flew to
another country, again because of the airline company! What a terrible flight it was!
fbut vacation changed the situation and we were satisfied with our holiday. We stayed
in a nice hotel near the sea and spent most of our time lying on the beach. However,
we also visited a few interesting places  and admired the local architecture. I also liked
the opportunity to practise my English.

o 10. Speak about a holiday of your dreams.

I love travelling so travelling around the whole world would be a dream come true.
There are so many places I want to visit.
If I could choose, I would like to spend a dream holiday with my friends at the
seaside. I would also like to learn how to dive. It would definitely be some exotic
beach in the Bahamas.

This archipelago consists of many exciting islands. They are situated in the Atlantic
Ocean. The most exciting thing is that they have a tropical climate, wonderful sand
beaches and an incredible sea flora and fauna. I would like to learn how to dive to be
able to explore the underwater world.

After the long and exhausting diving tours I would have  to relax. I imagine myself
taking a tour along the islands, shopping and sightseeing. I would buy all those
beautiful handmade souvenirs for me and my family. My friends and I would have an
amazing time in the Bahamas.

This holiday is perfect for me because I want to spend time with my friends, to have
a lot of fun and also to learn something very interesting.

 11. Speed and comfort. Speak about the advantages and disadvantages of
travelling by train, by car and by ship.

Today we have many opportunities to travel. We have many types of transport, but
each of it has its advantages and disadvantages.

Travelers, who prefer to view the country’s landscapes, including deserts, the
rainforests or large expanses of snow while traveling, should pick trains as their means
of transport. Trains don’t typically have traffic lines, or delayed departure or arrivals.
Stops are well-known to the passengers, and one can choose where to sit and how
much to pay depending on one’s preferences. Another benefit of using trains when
abroad is space. Passengers have enough leg room, can stand and stretch or move
around, and relax while on the route. However, the better and more comfortable the
amenities provided on your travel train, the higher the prices will be.

Travelling by car means flexibility, and freedom. You can take a lot of things with
you and go anywhere you want and at any speed you want. There are a few
disadvantages though. It can be tiring to drive for hours, petrol can be expensive and
you can get lost.

Travelling by ship is relaxing and comfortable, but even a fast ship is so much slower
than a plane, a car, a train or a bus. Besides, travelling by sea is not for people who
suffer from seasickness.

There are many forms of travel abroad. However, you should consider all the factors
of your vacation to choose the best transport

 12. Speed and comfort. Speak about the advantages and disadvantages of
travelling by plane. Describe a journey by plane.
Today we have many opportunities to travel abroad. We have many types of transport,
but each of it has its advantages and disadvantages.

For example ,One of the best advantages of airplanes, is that when you need to get
somewhere fast, flying is often the best option. It can get you across the country or
around the world in a matter of hours. If you have a choice between flying and
driving, flying will almost always get you there faster.

Planes are often comfortable, quick and effective types of getting from one point to
another. Planes are sticklers for timelines and set schedules, ensuring better timing
both for arrivals and departures. But, disadvantage is If you book a long-distance
flight, you’ll have several layovers.

– One of the biggest disadvantages of flying is the cost. It can be very expensive to
purchase a plane ticket, especially if you're flying internationally.

– Finally, it's important to consider the environmental impact of flying. Air travel is
one of the biggest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions.

Last time I travelled by plane was last year, when I was flying on vacation to Greece
with my family. I was so excited about our journey that while packing my suitcase I
forgot to take a swimsuite with me.
When me and my family arrived at the airport, I found out that our flight was delayed
for 4 hours. I was so angry that we had to wait at the airport! What was worse, when
we finally got at the board, someone took our seats. Arline company has sold tickets

suitcase flew to another country, again because of the airline company! What a terrible
flight it was! But the vacation itself but vacation changed the situation and we were
satisfied with our holiday.

 13. Speak about the last time you travelled by plane / by train. Have you ever
had any unpleasant experience while travelling?

Today we have many opportunities to travel abroad. We have many types of transport,
but each of it has its advantages and disadvantages.

For example, planes are often comfortable, quick and effective types of getting from
one point to another. Planes are sticklers for timelines and set schedules, ensuring

 14. Can you feel the rhythm of your body clock? Speak about the importance
of sleep and routine. Are you satisfied with your lifestyle?

When I entered the university last year, my body clock has significantly changed its
work, because I had to work often till the late night, although I know, it is not very
healthy for the body.
In my opinion, a standard daily routine is important because it helps me to be
organized and do everything I need in my busy day.
The standard daily routine is important because it keeps our body working in harmony
and this helps to keep us healthy.
As for me, when I get off my daily routine I become clumsy, I often feel tired and get
ill more often than other people.
So, for me it is extremely important do stick to a daily plan, have a regular sleep
pattern, have 3 breakfast, lunch and dinner at the same time every day.
I usually wake up at about half past six. However on the weekends like to sleep until
around nine.
I need an alarm clock to wake up. During the week I don’t have a strict schedule, as it
depends on the intensity of my studies and work. However, I try to make it more
strict.
During the week a get up at 6-7 o’clock in the morning and get ready for work/studies.
I work remotely, that is why I do not need to commute to work. This is what I really
like. After lessons I have lunch, and work on my project a little bit.
After work I go back home, I do my homework for the university and my household
chores. I have dinner at around 6 o’clock together with my family. After dinner I
watch TV for about an hour and after that I go to bed quite early.

 15. Are you an early bird or a night owl? Speak about the importance of sleep
for people’s health and the effects of sleep-deprivation.
While sleeping well is no guarantee of good health, it does help to maintain many vital
functions. Major restorative functions in the body such as tissue repair, muscle
growth, and protein synthesis occur almost exclusively during sleep.

Many other conclusions about the role sleep plays in maintaining health have come
from studying what happens when humans and other animals are deprived of the sleep
they need. For example, scientists have discovered that insufficient sleep may cause
health problems by altering levels of the hormones involved in such processes as
metabolism, appetite regulation, and stress response.

In the meantime, sleep experts say there is ample evidence that shows that when
people get the sleep they need, they will not only feel better, but will also increase
their odds of living healthier, more productive lives.

 16. Speak about your last visit to the doctor.

Nobody likes visiting a doctor.

In fact, many people dislike going to hospitals. I’d consider staying home and heal
physical ailments with the help of home remedies. But at times, when the medical
problem seems to be big, then it’s mandatory for everyone to consult a doctor.
I’d like to talk about a time when I had to visit a doctor. A couple of months ago, due
to seasonal changes and exposure to public places, I got affected by a severe cold,
constant cough, followed by mild fever and migraine, which caused me great
discomfort.
Initially, I tried all the home remedies prescribed by my mother to cure the infection.
But to my dismay, nothing worked, and the pain became unbearable. I could barely
keep my eyes open.  I decided to consult a doctor in my locality. I had to wait for
around an hour outside his chamber, and then my name was called out.
At first, he checked my body temperature, pulse and asked me to get a covid-19 test
done. I was damn scared to get the test done as I was already symptomatic, and many
things were running on my mind.
Somehow, I gave it a shot and waited for the results. An hour later, my reports were
back, and the doctors asked me if I had exposed myself to any covid-19 positive
patient. I completely denied it and told that I didn’t step out of the house due to the
lockdown.
When I curiously asked him about my reports, he concluded that I had tested negative
and the symptoms may probably be due to the temperature changes. Finally, I felt
relieved. The doctor then prescribed me a few medications and recommended staying
indoors and getting rest for at least two weeks.

 17. Speak about the last time you were ill.

I fell ill in winter. It was rather cold outside and I probably caught the infection. When
I came home I felt that I had a sore-throat. I made hot tea with honey, but it didn't
help. At last I decided to go to the doctor. When i came, a doctor, a kind-hearted
middle-aged woman, offered me to sit down and asked me what I complained of. I
had a terrible headache and sore throat. Besides, I was constantly sneezing and
coughing. It turned out that I was running a high temperature. The doctor examined
my throat. She said it was flu and prescribed some pills and mixture - I had to take
medicine 3 times a day before meals and to stay in bed for a week until full recovery.
I slept badly, had no appetite. I followed all the doctor's instructions and in a week I
was cured. It was a real pleasure to fell strong and healthy again.

 18. Describe the last time you were ill with flu or a common cold. Speak about
the ways to tackle the flu and colds.

I fell ill in winter. It was rather cold outside and I probably caught the infection. When
I came home I felt that I had a sore-throat. I made hot tea with honey, but it didn't
help. At last I decided to go to the doctor. When we came, a doctor, a middle-aged
woman, offered me to sit down and asked me what I complained of. I had a terrible
headache and sore throat and it ached me to swallow. Besides, I was constantly
sneezing and coughing. It turned out that I was running a high temperature. The doctor
examined my throat, sounded my heart and lungs, had my blood pressure tested. She
said it was flu and prescribed some pills and mixture - I had to take medicine 3 times a
day before meals and to stay in bed for a week until full recovery. The recovery was
slow. I slept badly, had no appetite. I suffered from a slight, but irritating cough which
as a rule became worse at night. I followed all the doctor's instructions and in a week
was cured. It was a real pleasure to fell strong and healthy again.

 19. Describe the last time a member of your family was ill.

My father fell ill in winter. It was rather cold outside and he probably caught the
infection. When he came home my father felt that he had a sore-throat.I made  him hot

 20. Earth is Dearer than Gold. Speak about Planet Earth and environmental
problems.
Today we have many different problems with environmental. We have such problems
as: pollution, global warming, overpopulation, deforestation, climat change, acid rain
and many other.
Many greenhouse gases, e.g. carbon dioxide, methane and ozone, exist naturally and
are needed to create the greenhouse effect that keeps the Earth warm enough to
support human life. However, the use of fossil fuels, e.g. oil, natural gas and coal, has
produced excessive4 amounts of greenhouse gases, and the result is global warming:
an increase in the average temperature on Earth. Of the 15 warmest years on record,
14 have occurred since 2000. The effects of climate change can already be seen in our
everyday lives. Summers are getting hotter and winters are getting wetter, so drought9
and floods are becoming more common. With it, animal and plant life is suffering –
some species will disappear altogether – and certain illnesses,
e.g. hay fever, asthma and skin cancer, are becoming more common.
