Instructions for Bibs and Burp Rags

Read all instructions before starting your project.

Look at the directions for preparation of the

material you’ve chosen. In most cases, you’ll want to
prepare your material as you would treat it later. If
you’d wash and dry after use, do that now to prevent
future shrinking, bleeding, etc.

If you’re using a projector file, be sure your image is

calibrated. There is a 2” by 2” square on each file to
ensure you’re working at the right size.

If you choose to use the US paper files, print each

sheet before cutting out the pattern pieces. Use the
lines to arrange your pieces. There will be overlap to make sure you’re in the right spot.
Use scotch tape or a glue stick to attach the pieces together.

Supplies Needed:

 These patterns use two layers: a main/ face fabric and a lining fabric.
o The main/face can be something decorative such as cotton or flannel
o The lining (if not both layers) should be absorbent material such as terry
cloth

 Snaps – plastic or metal (user preference) for all patterns except the burp rag

5. Close the open section by top stitching, following the stitch around the entire
piece.

Finishing:
The burp rag is complete after the basic instruction steps. For all bibs, these steps will
help you finish the pattern.

1. Using the projected image or your printed pattern piece, mark locations for all
snaps. If you’re making the binky bib, you’ll also need to mark snaps for the binky
wrap at the bottom.

2. There is one snap on one side of the bib and two on the other. Having more than
one allows for size adjustment.
