for their country. One of the Indonesia’s great man
is Dr.Mohammad Hatta. He was a man with a deep
love of his country and his people.
Dr. Mohammad Hatta was born in
Bukittinggi on 12thAugust 1902. While still in Junior
High School in Bukit tinggi he became interested in
politics and joined the League of young
Sumareants.
He left Bukitinggi to study in Btavia. Then
he went to the Netherlands, where he studied
economics and gained a doctorate.
When the Japanese surrendered in
August 1945, Soekarno and Hatta proclaimed
Indonesia’s Independence. Hatta became the first
Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia
In 1956 Hatta Resigned as Vice

14thMarch, 1981 Dr Mohammad Hatta died in

It was Takbiran night. It was also my birthday
and nothing happened. I had thought nothing would
happen but I was wrong.
That night, I was watching television with my
family when I heard someones lit firework in my front
yard. I peeped trough my window glass but could see

to be my cousins who lit firework. Then I plopped down
on my sofa again and tried to concentrate on the

hands. Oh my God I shrieked. Then they gave the cake
to me who was too stunned to say anything.

Abdulrahman Saleh
Born into a family of doctor in
Kampung Ketapang, kwitang barat, Jakarta,
Abdulrachman SAleh also became a
doctor. After finishing MULO, he studied at
STOVIA. While still a student, he was
appointed as assistant at the laboratory of
physiology. Graduating from STOVIA,
Abdulrahmansaleh’s role in medicine was
significant. He became a lecturer in Jakarta,
Surabaya, Malang and Klaten. For his
meritorious service in medicine, specifically
in physiology in 1958 the University of
Indonesia bestowed him the title of Bapak
Ilmu Faal (Father of Physiology).
Abdukrahman saleh was a man of
many interest. He was involved in youth
organizations like Boy Scouts and
Indonesia Muda. He was also a member of
Aeroclub, and co-founded the Verenighed
Oosterse Radio Omroep (VORO), an
organization of broadcasters. It was he who
established the Voice of free Indonesia, the
radio station which spread the proclamation
of Indonesia’s Independence to the world.

A POSTMAN

I have a brother his name is Johny.

He is postman . my brother works at the
Central Post office. Everyday he delivers
letters to many people. He usually starts
his job at 8.a.m from Monday to
Saturday, except Sunday. First, he goes
to the addresses near his office. Then
he continuous to the addresses far from
his office. He stop working at 2 p.m. he
never bored with his job. He is happy to
be a postman.
