Teachers Computer Lab Procedures


1. To use computer, students must first sign in. 2. No food or drinks is to be brought in the computer area at any time. 3. Disrupting the connection to the computer will result in lost assignments and could damage the computer network. Abuse to computer equipment may result in the students permanent removal from computer access. 4. User ids and passwords assigned shall not be given to anyone else other than the teacher. A student found in a file other than their own, as well as the student whose file he/she was in, will lose their computer privilege. Passwords are given in order to protect student files. 5. Attempts to bypass the filter will not be tolerated. Any student found bypassing or attempting to bypass the filter will lose computer privileges. 6. Internet access is available to all students and is to be used for EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. 7. No student is allowed to download any games, pictures or non-educational materials. 8. Prior to bringing the students to the lab for the first time, review with your students the computer lab procedures. It is your responsibility to make sure that they know the rules of the lab. 9. Be sure your students have user IDs and passwords before coming to the lab. They must know their passwords and be sure their login will work before coming to the lab. 10. Keep your scheduled time. 11. Accompany your students to the lab. Students may not enter the lab unless you are with them. 12. Class must follow rules set out in the computer lab. 13. Students must never turn off the computer without exiting the software being used. Failure to exit properly will result in lost assignments. 14. All students need to log off at end of the class. 15. Teachers must make sure room is picked up and chairs in proper place when leaving the lab. 16. Substitutes may not supervise students in lab. 17. Do not leave the lab when students are in it. Teacher must make a point to circulate around the lab to observe your students activities. Students who are not closely supervised are more likely to download non-educational files. 18. Every student must work at their assigned computer unless instructed to go elsewhere by the teacher.

Computer Lab Rules


1. The use of the computer lab is a privilege. Treat equipment and each other with respect at all times. 2. Please walk quietly when coming into the computer and go to your assigned seat. No one is allowed to enter the computer lab without a teacher present. 3. Remain seated and wait for instructions when entering the computer lab. Follow all directions the first time they are given. 4. Absolutely no sharing of IDs and passwords is permitted; if you share your ID and password you will lose your computer privileges. 5. Use equipment correctly. If you have technical problems check with your teacher. Your 6. Teacher will leave a note for the computer Tech if something is not working correctly. 7. Abuse to computer equipment may result in your loss of computer privilege. 9. Students that damage any part of the computer will be responsible for any damages caused to the computer parts. 10. You must have permission to print. When you have permission to print press print only once. If the printer is not working contact your teacher. 11. No one is allowed to download any music, games, pictures or non-educational materials. 12. Attempts to bypass the filter will not be tolerated. Any one found bypassing or attempting to bypass the filter will lose computer privileges. 13. Do not touch anyone elses equipment. 14. Bring materials needed for lab only. 15. Be sure to save your work often while working. 16. Think before you leave the lab. a. Did you save your work to the correct media? b. Did you close all programs? c. Did you exit to the desktop for the next user? 17. Please leave the lab neat and clean for the next class. a. Push in your chair. b. Leave headphones on top of computers c. Leave the computer station in good order d. Take all of your things with you 18. Exit quietly
