Nerves

● Function: transmitting information and signals between the brain and the body.

● Carries electric signals from the brain to muscles

● Uses chemicals to communicate

● Bundles of long thin cells were found inside

● —>Our brains really are made of separate nerve cells.
● There are billions of them, and they are all connected.
● On average, each nerve cell connects to 10000 others.

● Neuron(Singular version of nerves) A neuron cell’s structure : 3 main compositions

● The neuron has an end plate, dendrite, and an axon.

→The dendrites receive signals from other neurons and collect information
→ While the axon sends electric signals to other neurons.

→But end plate transmits chemical signals to muscles or other nerves ( basically a
chemical messenger known as a neurotransmitter)

● . Sensory cells

→detect changes
● →Sensory cells in your ears and eyes detect sound and light. #Your ears don't
hear and our eyes don't see.

● →Sensory cells send electrical signals along nerves to your brain.

● The nerve cells in the brain turn messages into sounds and vision.
