IEEE Xtreme is IEEE's premier programming competition, bringing thousands of students from
around the world together. It is an annual Hackathon and competitive programming challenge in
which teams of IEEE Student members, often supported by an IEEE Student Branch and proctored

MoU in progress with the IEEE Hyderabad Section:

The IEEE Student Branch has a MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MoU) by and between
IEEE HYDERABAD SECTION and GEETHANJALI COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING AND
TECHNOLOGY, HYDERABAD, INDIA under IEEE Hyderabad Section - Skill Connect
Program.
The Section has selected provided IOT starter kits 5 in number with 2 sets of sensor packs.
IoT Starter Kit details
The IoT Starter Kit is designed to help the program participant gain hands-on practice on the
concepts dealt with in Level 1. Out-of-the box the Kit will enable the participant to do a couple of
end-to-end IoT projects using the IoT eco-system and building blocks learnt in Level 1. The Kit can
be powered and programmed via USB. The Kit will have polarized connectors to directly interface
all the connectors in the Sensor Pack enabling the participant to complete the projects in Levels 2 &
3.

4.5.2 Publication of technical magazines, newsletters, etc. (5)
a. Geethanjali College of Engineering and Technology issues a Technical magazine under the name
“Innovation – Technology beyond the Horizon”, delineating the activities carried out by the faculty,
non-teaching staff and students of the college. This magazine covers the events such as Technical
Publications by the faculty, Student activities and their achievements, Sports information, Faculty
achievements, Patents, Technical articles, Cultural activities, Placement information, Research projects,
Funding for the projects through the sponsors, Industrial MOUs, Linkage with private organizations,
Awards received. This magazine is released once in a year in the month of October. This magazine is
meant for internal as well as for external circulation of the college. Three series of this magazine were
released by the coordinator (Dean R&D).
b. The Department of ECE dispenses newsletter titled “Techno Digest”, enveloping the events of the
department such as: FDPs, workshops, STTPs, SDPs, Student peer learning programs, guest lectures
organized by the department, Books, Conference/Journals published, invited talks by the faculty,
Faculty achievements, FDPs, workshops, webinars attended by the faculty, empowerment and
enrichment of the department, NSS activities in the department, Activities carried out by professional
bodies like: IEEE, IETE, ISTE. Events under Centre of Excellence- CoE-VLSI, CoE-IoT and
Embedded Systems, PBL information, Techexpo, Placements achieved by student of ECE, Events
under college level. The Head of the Department releases the newsletter twice a year in the months
January and July. This is circulated both externally and internally of the college. Seven series of
newsletter were released by the Department.
c. The Department of ECE has released technical magazine entitled “Techno Chronicle”, mainly
encompassing the technical articles written by the faculty and students of ECE department. It is being
released twice a year. It is meant for in-house circulation among the students and faculty.
