The company I chose for these case questions is Evite.

The different types of data that is stored

electronically names, email addresses, passwords, and phone numbers. Evite stated that other
information such as birth dates, mailing addresses and financial data had not been stolen but they had
as much of a potential to be compromised. Data is used by these individuals to gain access to accounts
and using this information for various reasons – a process known as identity theft. When it comes to the
first tenant of responsibility, I thought that Evite took accountability for their lack of security by
informing their customers of their breach rather than keeping it a secret. Evite took accountability by
addressing that the perpetrator put the information of the customers accounts up for sale. Although the
last tenant liability doesn’t have much credit when it comes to Evite, the company was able to inform
their customers that information was leaked but as well as protected such as their phone numbers, birth
dates, mailing addresses, and financial data.
