SEMINARS/COLLOQUIA
AC FUNDAMENTALS
Reaction Paper
Dealing with this year with especially for us students is a great challenge. One of these is the
learning gap that we carry due to pandemic. Last October 11, 2022, is a great day for us as we fill
those learning gaps will the aid of Engr, Hanapon which is the speaker for the seminar. In the two
hours span, we learned and recall the AC Fundamentals. We got the clear understanding on how
the alternating current is generated, its properties, and the fundamentals. There are also problem
formulas that were introduced which we still use in our current subjects. The alternating current
quantities that refer to as the resistance, inductive resistance, capacitance reactance, and the
admittance and impedance. The ICE and ELI are to know the which is leading or lagging. We
Though it is strange for us fourth years to listen the lessons that should’ve learned in our
sophomore years. Still for the discussion to be clearer Engr. Hanapon discussed from the basic
principle. He delivered the detailed information of the in-phase and the lagging and leading factors
which occurs in between the voltage and current. As a teacher himself, in every principle
introduced comes a sample problem and a detailed solution and discussion. Those problem solving
gave us the idea where those theories and principle are being applied to an actual problem. In the
entirety of the discussion. We solved the different problems using the formulas of resistance,
inductance, and capacitance, There different formulas depending on the given problem. That
approach helped us to digest not all but most of the lessons in that seminar. Sadly, due to lack of
of information. From the basic principle going to more specific applications, I manage to gain
knowledge from listening and solving the problems in the following slides of the presentation. The
entirety of the seminar focuses on the AC fundamentals that is undeniably one of the gaps that us
