Why does s/he choose to produce/express He is a liar? Explain correctly and give the
appropriate logic. (score 15)
= The learning strategy or communication strategies that s/he apply is Avoidance,
because learners of a second language may learn to avoid talking about topics for which
they lack the necessary vocabulary or other language skill in second language.
3. He doesn't knows my name. The sentence contains a grammatical error. What type of
error does it belong to? How can the learner produce such an error? What background
knowledge/understanding/competence may influence the emergence of the error?
Explain your answer as well as possible. (score 15)
= The type of error is Addition errors, and the sample of error in language is Double
marking. Double marking such assessments has been seen as a way of improving the
reliability of the mark.

4. Developmental errors are errors similar to those made by children learning the target
language as their first language. Explain adequately the statement. (score 10)
= A developmental error is one that occurs as a result of the learning process (it is
happening when the learners hypothesize the target language based on their limited
language). For example, the majority of speech sound errors made by internationally
adopted children are common developmental errors.
5. There are three interrelated aspects/features of words, namely form, meaning, and
distribution. When we learn vocabulary, especially content words, we have to consider
all of them with no exception. How are they interrelated in a word? Explain them well
with illustration/examples. (score 15)
= Form (of words):
a. sound segment, stress, pitch, amount (food, gift, to)
b. It depends on the form of the situation, the speed of speaking, the position in the
sentence, the position of the accent.
Meaning (of words)
a. The meaning is the same in all languages. Languages differ only in the forms used
for these meanings.

7. In learning the sound system of a foreign language (English) one finds sounds that are
physically similar to those of the native language, that structure similarly to them, and
that are similarly distributed. Explain the statement (idea) as well as possible. (score 15)
= One finds sounds that are physically comparable to those of the original language, that
structure similarly to them, and that similarly disseminate simple transfer without
difficulty when learning the sound system of a foreign language. \In comparison, one can
discover that the reverse is more slowly learned and difficult to convey.
