This is a straight model and does´nt have

a thumbgusset.
You can adjust the size with your yarn,
needles and your gauge.
Yarn: 175-220m/50 gr
Needles: 2-2,75 mm. Dpns or circular
Gauge for these mittens should be
approx 35 st/10cm for adult woman, 32
st for adult man. – The higher the gauge is –the smaller mittens you get.

things
k-knit
d-2tog-knit 2 st together as 1.=-1
s- s1k1psso-sl 1, k1, pass sl st over
the knitted
G shows placement of the thumb
*The charts are read from right to
left.
Cast on 72st using double needles.
*When you have knitted to the
markings for the thumb these 17 st
are placed on a stitchholder or some
scrapyarn.
* Co 17 new st in charted pattern
and join in the round.
Decrease the following way at the
top of the mitten:
*In the beginning of the row,
directly after the ”side st”: sl1k1psso
*Before the ”side st”on the other
side: 2tog

*Make a Latvian braid(there are *Decrease this way on every row

great videos available on youtube) and on both sides front and back(-
or some other kind of edge. 4st every row) until you have approx
8 st left.
*Follow the chart.
*Break yarn and pull the end Front of thumb
through the loops of the remaining
st and through the top of the
mitten. Tighten.
Thumb
* Place the 15 st from st holder on
needles and co 17 more sta round
the hole.
*The back of the thumb is knitted in
the same pattern as the front – st 1,
17.
*Decrease and finish the top of the
thumb the same way as the mitten.
Back of thumb
*Weave in all loose ends.
*Block the mittens by damping
them and leaving them to dry in the
shape you want.
