1.0 HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT


Project: Jetpur - Somnath Project, Gujarat Month: January Year: 2015

1.1 Executive Summary

Health & Safety

“ We have achieved above 9.36 million safe man hours without lost time injury”
The Jetpur - Somnath project has achieved Approx.9.36 million cumulative man-hours worked up to 31st January’15.
The project has accomplished Zero LTI free man-hours worked since last LTI on dt.1st July ‘12.

3 No. First Aid cases occurred during the month of January’15.

Total 167 nos. of Construction Vehicles (Like Hywa, Tipper, Roller, Paver, Hydra & DG Set) were inspected
and Stick Green Sticker after inspection during the month of January’15.

Total 55 Nos. of Safety trainings conducted at site and achieved 1110 man months during the month of
January’15.

Total 14.Nos. Plants (like Batching Plants, Crusher Plants, and Hot Mix Plants etc.) have been inspected
during the month of January’15 by HSE team and, mechanical team.

Total 4283 man-month achieved from tool box talks such as Incident alerts, Hazard & Fire safety to site etc.

45 Persons safety Induction conducted during the month of January’15.

Total 2 nos Housekeeping Inspection conducted at site all during January’15.

09 Nos. Work Permit has been issued for excavation work during January’15.

Issued mandatory PPEs to the workers and ensure its proper use at site and PPEs stock list has been attached
with the monthly report as Appendix 1.

1.4.1 Training
In-House Health, Safety & Environmental Training:

Total 55 Nos. Safety training conducted at site


Over 1110 Nos. Worker participated in this training including Site engineers of EPC Contractor and
sub-contractors have successfully attended the above training programme.
The site training is a step towards our awareness programmes conducted on monthly basis on HSE
aspects among all workman and supervisory staff to create awareness among project staff for safe,
secure and healthy environment at work site.
Every day tool box talks conducted at site, before starting of work at each working location.
Over 4,283 Persons including Engineers and Supervisors participated.

 Installation of Metal Beam Crash Barrier is started and work under progress.

 Installation of Permanent Road Signs started and work under progress in Project.
 Installation of Road Studs (cat eyes) at median openings, Curves, and Built up areas
 Safety Induction training programs for third party Agencies of Road furniture, lane Marking, Sign board contractors
 Specific HSE – Training programs conducted during month covering welding, cutting, rigging, material
handling, hot work, asphalt works etc
 Housekeeping of work site during the month
 PPE’s Inspection and replacement during the month

Environment:
 Ensured water sprinkling system (water tankers) at construction site for dust pollution control.
 Environmental Monitoring along the Project road and plant site has been conducted on 17th Dec
2014.
 Green belt developed near all Plants (like Batching Plants, Crusher Plants, Hot Mix Plants and Camp
office etc.
 Installed water sprinkling system in all the crusher plants
 Rehabilitation of Borrow area and Quarry sites to be initiated after completion of project.

Health & Safety:

 Maintenance of Diversion boards and supporting boards during the month


 Installation of Metal Beam Crash Barrier is started and work under progress.

 Installation of Blinkers, Road studs, Delineators and other safety appurtenances
