Notification
(REGULATIONS FOR D.Sc. / D.Litt.)
It is, notified in continuation of earlier Notification of even Ref. No. 697 dated 10.03.2022 regarding
Regulations for D.Sc. / D.Litt. that the University has decided to offer Doctor of Science (D.Sc.)/Doctor of
Literature (D.Litt.) programs. The Regulations for admission in the programs are, attached.

Any applicant may apply for the award of Doctor of Science (D.Sc.)/Doctor of
Literature (D.Litt.) Degree, who has qualified the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Degree
from Suresh Gyan Vihar University or any other equivalent degree recognized by the
UGC or equivalent and comparable to that of other Universities
Provided that:
i. He/she has worked as regular employee in the Suresh Gyan Vihar University or
an affiliated college/institution/university, recognized for advanced study
within India for a minimum duration of 5 years since earning a Doctor of
Philosophy (Ph.D.) Degree out of it 4 years as a Professor. Applicants working
in universities/academic institutions outside India are also qualifying, provided
these organizations are recognized and certified or are working in the industry.
ii. Science/Engineering/Arts/Commerce/Education/Management candidates must
have at least ten publications of their own in Scopus/SCI/SSCI indexed good
journals.
iii. Applicant must have academic/research experience of at least fifteen years in
reputed institute/university, in the relevant specialization field.
2. REGISTRATION
i. The registration of the applicant for the degree of D.Sc./D.Litt., must be made at least
12 months before the submission of the thesis for D.Sc./D.Litt.
ii. For the Registration in D.Sc./D.Litt. applicant should enclose:
a. List of Research Publications with proof of publications.

b. Citation Index of 10 best publications.
c. Registration fee of Rs. 2,000/-.
iii. In his/her registration application, the candidate shall state:
b. The mentioned subject chosen for his/her research must relate with the
main/related theme of knowledge.
c. If the thesis submitted is partly based on the award of an earlier degree, in the
preface or written statement, the applicant shall describe the portion or
portions upon which the previous award of Degree was based.
3. FEE STRUCTURE:
4. THESIS SUBMISSION
i. Five copies of thesis shall be submitted with his / her submission application for the
degree of D.Sc./D.Litt. Thesis shall be in the form of published works, articles or
books which makes original contribution to the knowledge advancement.
ii. The applicant shall present his / her thesis for the degree of D.Sc./D.Litt., after one
year from the date of registration.
iii. The Board of Management may offer extended time of two years period for

submission of the D.Sc./D.Litt. thesis. Such extensions will initially be issued for
six months, followed by six-month terms, which in rare cases exceed two years.
iv. This does not include the publications comprising the materials for which it was
awarded the PhD. The initial chapter will summarize the candidate's doctoral
research assisted by publications and also indicating the D.Sc./D.Litt. thesis
theme.
v. Where ever applicable, the applicant should provide his / her publications with a
comprehensive citation index. The thesis of D.Sc./D.Litt. must be as a series of
linked articles on the main theme. Along with main theme additional papers can
be submitted but only with the understanding that applicant has suggested in the
thesis preface along with supporting the main theme.
vi. At least five papers related to the thesis of D.Sc./D.Litt. must be published in the
journals indexed in Scopus/WOS/SCI/with good cite score of Scopus or impact
factor
vii. To obtain D.Sc./D.Litt degree, the candidate must have at least 20 research
publications in Scopus/SCI/SSCI journals to his/her credit with average cite
score/ impact factor of 1.0
viii. The submitted thesis must pass through plagiarism check with maximum limit of
10%
5. DECLARATION
The thesis is followed by a statement signed by the candidate stating that it was
written independently of himself / herself and that the format shall be as per the
Annexure- II, and shall not be comprised with any thesis used for the award of any degrees as
Associate- ship, Fellowship., Diploma, Master’s, Ph.D., or any other similar titles.
6. CERTIFICATION
A duly signed certificate from the Head of the University/Institute, with name and

designation and office seal affixed, shall be obtained by the candidate and included after
the declaration in the thesis. This certificate will certify that the applicant is a Faculty
Member/Research Scholar in the University / Institution and he/she has independently
carried out the work of post-doctoral research. This Certificate will be as per the format
provided under Annexure-III.
7. PREFACE ANDNOTES
In his/her thesis preface and especially in notes, the candidate shall generally
specify:
ii. The expanse of work to which he/she has availed himself/herself of the work
of others;
iii. The applicant shall also state the mode in which they performed
investigations lean towards the knowledge advancement or otherwise of the
subject dealt with.

Along with the thesis, the applicant may attach copies of independently or jointly

9. THESIS EVALUATION
(1) The President/ Vice-Chancellor shall ask a panel of experts from Research
Department by departmental head, for the evaluation of D.Sc./D.Litt. thesis from an
expert in the related theme.
(2) The panel of experts should consist of four experts with at least:
i. One from outside India,

ii. Two from India but outside Rajasthan and
iii. One from Rajasthan.
(3) President/ / Vice-Chancellor /Dean Research of the University will be the Convener
for the conduction of public viva-voce for D.Sc./D.Litt.
(4) For the award of the degree of D.Sc./D.Litt., positive recommendation by the foreign
examiner is mandatory. At least Two out of three national experts must be positive
comments recommending the award of degree. The claims of the candidate about
the impact factor of the journals shall also take into account in which applicant’s
research papers have been published, which are included in the D.Sc./D.Litt. thesis.
(5) A public viva-voce examination shall be conducted by the convener of the panel or a
nominee of the University and the candidate shall be asked to be present
himself/herself to it.
(6) The syndicate/academic council shall decide whether the candidate has qualified for
the Degree or not, after the receipt of the report on the thesis by the panel and the
public viva-voce examination.
