- Earthquake is triggered by the shifting of the Tectonic Plates, and is located on the crust of the Earth and floats on t
he 
mantle.The sudden slip of rocks, which is also called Fault, may be caused by this action. The explanation for the earthquake is 
also the rapid release of Energy/Seismic waves. Earthquakes usually occur on Plate Margins. A seismic wave can be measured
using an instrument called a Seismometer. The measure of how strong the earthquake is the Magnitude. It is possible to 
measure earthquakes using the Richter Scale; this calculates the magnitude of the earthquake. In a Belt, earthquakes occur; 
this is the region in which earthquakes occur. Focus is where the earthquake starts below ground and begins directly above 
the focus at the Epicenter. Landforms like mountains, volcanoes, and valleys can be caused by the motions of the plates. There 
are two kinds of plates, the Oceanic and Continental plates.

- I would feel bothered because even if i prepare myself I still don’t know when it will happen.

1990 Killer Quake

1990 Killer Quake was back on July 16, 1990. The earthquake lasted about 45 seconds, but many people lost their lives in 
the next 45 seconds. Almost 1,000 people died as a result of this earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 on the Richter scale. In 
the video we watched, you can see the terror in their faces, you can hear their never-ending cries. Many of the buildings, 
bridges, have been severely destroyed. The video also shows the places where the earthquake has caused such great damage in 
Cabanatuan, Dagupan, Baguio. The Christian College of the Philippines collapsed in Cabanatuan City due to the strength of the 
earthquake. In Dagupan City, the video shows that the bridge is also severely damaged by the earthquake. While in Baguio, this 
is the place where the earthquake has caused such great damage. Some of the places in Baguio are covered with soil from the 
mountains, there is no transport and communication, and there is a lack of food.

In all honesty, I would feel frightened and hopeless if I were also in the wake of the 1990 Killer Quake. I'm scared because
I don't know what's going to happen to me to my family, to my friends, if I was in that occurrence, too. Hopeless because even 
though we know how to prepare ourselves for this disaster, we still don't know when it's going to happen, and if it ever
happens, it's going to happen so suddenly. Also because when this kind of disaster happens, you don't have a choice to save your
self first, and if someone is stranded, you have to wait until the earthquake comes to an end so someone can rescue the
strandeds.

There are still questions left to me after seeing the 1990 Killer Quake footage, like “How do they feel after this tragedy is
over?”, "If they had a trauma, how did they heal from it?”, "What did they do to run from the houses they're in?”,
"How did it effect on their lives after this tragedy happened?"And more than that. Although I can't comment because I'm not 
in their place, and I don't know what they're going through i’m still curious even though i know that my questions are a bit
personal i want to meet someone who experience this disaster.
