LEISURE ACTIVITY

1. Hello teacher and everybody. My name is……….. I am a member of group.… There are 6
members:………………………………………………………….………………and me.
Today we are so glad to stand here to talk about our leisure activities. Each member of my
group has their own interesting leisure activity. Let’s get started!!

2. Cooking has been my leisure activity for recent years. My mother is my inspiration to
cook. She taught me how to cook delicious dishes when I was 9 years old. Except for my
school time, I usually make the best use of my spare time by cooking with my mother.
Moreover, when I feel down, I will go to the kitchen to cook something I like. Besides,
cooking gives us a number of benefits. Firstly, it makes you more creative. Secondly, it
makes you more patient. Last but not least, cooking is cheaper and healthier than eating out.
Furthermore, I realize that cooking is an extremely enjoyable experience. There is no greater
feeling than cooking a tasty dish that your parents like. I think everyone should cook at
home more frequently.

3. I would like to talk about playing badminton which is my favourite leisure activity. I
started to play badminton when I was … years old. Badminton can be played with two or
four players. Therefore, I can play it with not only my father/mother but also my
sister/brother. I usually spend my free time playing it. Playing badminton gives us numerous
benefits. First, I can improve my mental well-being through playing it. It makes me put my
mind at rest. Second, playing badminton gives us pleasure when you are deeply into playing
it. Besides, learning new tricks or techniques is also very wonderful. In conclusion, playing
badminton is a truly beneficial leisure activity, so I think we can play it in our free time.

4. Reading is my favorite leisure activity. I got used to reading on a frequent basis when I
was 5 years old. First, my mother usually told me fairy tales before going to sleep. Then, I
could read short stories and now I am keen on reading long books. Reading books before
going to sleep has become my habit for many years. I often spend my spare time reading
books. However, it’s important for us to read in the right lighting conditions. Reading books
gives us considerable benefits. First, those who read books are likely to reap significant a
huge fund of knowledge. Reading books brings helpful materials for our life, especially our
study. Second, being engrossed in books builds strongly one’s vocabulary range.
Specifically, while the screens of modern devices emit blue lights which are harmful to your
health, reading books prepare one for a good night’s sleep. I always hope that I will have my
own enormous library in the future. In conclusion, I love books very much and perhaps, I
can’t live without them.
5. My favourite leisure activity is watching movies. When I was a kid, I started watching
cartoons. Watching movies is a recreational activity for people of all ages, so I can watch
movies with my mother, my father or my brother/sister and so on. I usually spend my
Sunday watching my favorite film that makes me feel greatly relax. Watching movies takes
a lot of advantages. First, watching foreign-language movies can help us learn a new
language. We are not only practicing our listening and speaking skills when watching
them. Moreover, watching movies benefits us in learning about new cultures that we
probably have not known before. Watching films could provide us with both enjoyment and
stress reduction. Watching movies can make us forget our problems and calm us down. I
will try to arrange my schedule to watch one episode a week. I am very interested in
watching movies.

8. These are my group member’s leisure activities. In my opinion, with the current fast pace
of life, we should set aside a little free time for ourselves to join in our leisure activities.
Leisure activities bring us considerable benefits that are good for not only your physical as
