ROMAN EMPIRE:NEW MATERIALS

We discovered a new type of concrete, we start making it in the mortar and

lots of rocks. We have types of concretes:
● Opus Quadratum
● Opus Latericium
● Opus Reticulatum
● Opus Caementicium
● Opus Incertum

Opus Quadratum, is a system of

build, we use rocks/bricks of same
size and we stick each other with
the mortar.
Opus Caementicium, is a type of
work made of mortar and stones of
all kinds and the appearance of
concrete,we use for protecting the
walls that are surrounding our
village.

Opus Laticerium, is a build system

made by a wall of bricks that help
to protect the Opus Caementicium
nucleus.
Opus Incertum is a type of build’s
system, we use rocks with irregular
forms put it randomly in a wall.
Opus reticulatum is a form of
masonry. It is made up of lozenge-
shaped tuff bricks placed around a
core of opus caementicium.
