Introduction:
Study skills is a compulsory common core subject of the curriculum, and is essentially aimed at providing and
equipping the student with tools and academic study skills towards the degree level.
Learning outcomes:
By the end of this course, the student should be able to:
1. Plan study activities through goal setting and effective time management
2. Use effective learning strategies;
3. Use mechanisms of text organization to construct and extract information
4. Research and retrieve information by using appropriate sources and strategies.
5. Use critical analytical skills and relevant quoting and referencing conventions
6. Use IT for proofreading and revising own writing
