With the beginning of a new academic year, SEDS Agni Chapter is

ready to bring in new enthusiastic members into the Board and
members team.

What is SEDS?

SEDS, which stands for Students for the Exploration and Development of
Space, is an international organization dedicated to fostering interest and
involvement in space exploration and development.

SEDS Agni Chapter is our local branch, committed to promoting and

advancing the field of space science and technology within our community. As
a member of SEDS Agni Chapter, you will become part of a supportive and
collaborative community. You will have the chance to network with like-
minded individuals, connect with professionals in the field, and even participate
in national and international space conferences and competitions. We believe in
nurturing talent and providing opportunities for personal and professional
growth.

Activities of the Year 2022-2023

1. The Department of Aerospace Engineering & SEDS - AGNI CHAPTER has

organized an INTRA-COLLEGE WATER ROCKET CHALLENGE -
2022 on 10th November 2022 under the guidance of Dr. S. K.
Narendranathan, Head and Mr. S. Prasanth and Mr. A. Shankar, faculty
coordinators of SEDS - AGNI CHAPTER. The event was held in the
presence of Dr. Srinivasan Alavandar, Principal. Dr. L. Ranganathan, Head,
Department of Mechanical Engineering & Dr. S. K. Narendranathan, Head,
Department of Aerospace Engineering distributed the Cash Award to the
winners and Participation Certificates to the Participants.

2. The Department of Aerospace Engineering and SEDS AGNI CHAPTER

have organized an OUTREACH PROGRAM at Jaigopal Garodia Govt.
Girls Hr. Sec. School, Choolaimedu on 21 November 2022 on the theme
‘FUN SPACE’.
 The program was organized by the SEDS members Devadharshini.U (Final
year, ASE), Subhiksha. M (Final Year, ASE), Parthiban. T( Final year,
ASE) and Sandhiya. S ( Third year, ASE) under the guidance of the
faculty coordinator Mr. S. Prasanth, AP/ASE. This one day workshop
session is aimed to make the students aware of the prevailing opportunities
in space sector and to discuss various space facts with the students and to
encourage the students to develop and pursue their interest. Activities like
paper plane making and the project demonstration on Water Rocket were
carried out.

Guidelines
 The students who wish to be a part of the SEDS Agni Chapter are
obliged to pay a one time fee of Rs.300 which affirms their lifetime
membership in the chapter.
 The registration form is attached below. The registrations should be
submitted on or before 24-05-2023 (Wednesday).
 The selection of the Board Members of SEDS Agni Chapter (Batch
2023-2024) will be based on the one-on-one interview session headed
by the Faculty Coordinator and the President of the chapter.
 The decision of the Faculty Coordinator will be final.
