Hi!

Welcome to
DLSU!
Welcome to the
Department of
Civil Engineering!
Vision
A highly respected civil engineering
department widely known for its excellence and
social relevance in the fields of education,
research and innovation in Asia.

Mission
A resource of competent, ethical and socially
responsible civil engineering leaders and
professionals that serve as catalyst to
national and regional development.
The Department of Civil Engineering at DLSU
introduced innovations in the undergraduate
curriculum by incorporating specialization in the field
of:

• Construction Technology and Management (CTM)

• Geotechnical Engineering (GTE)
• Hydraulics and Water Resources Engineering (HWR)
• Structural Engineering (STE)
• Transportation Engineering (TRE)
Civil Engineering Department Academic Programs

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE)

• Bachelor/Master of Science Honors Program
(BS/MS)
• Master of Science in Civil Engineering (MSCE)
• Master of Engineering major in Civil Engineering
(M. Eng. CE)
• Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering (PHDCE)
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE)

The New BSCE program (effective A.Y. 2018-

2019) can be completed in four years of academic
and practical training (OJT during the last term).

Specializations:
• Construction Technology and Management (CTM)
• Geotechnical Engineering (GTE)
• Hydraulics and Water Resources Engineering (HWR)
• Structural Engineering (STE)
• Transportation Engineering (TRE)
Bachelor/Master of Science Honors Program
(BS/MS)

The BS/MS Honors program is an accelerated

program for undergraduate students with
exceptional academic research aptitude. The BS/MS
student can earn both BS and MS degrees by just
adding two (2) terms in his/her four-year BS Civil
Engineering program.
The DLSU Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is
recognized/accredited/assessed by the following
organizations:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE)
Specializations
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with
specialization on Construction Technology and
Management (CTM)

The main objective of the CTM program is to

prepare students for the effective planning and
implementation of construction projects by giving
them basic knowledge of construction materials and
technology, and project management concepts.
•CTMQAQC – CTM Quality Assurance and Quality Control
•CTMPROM – CTM Process Management
•CTMBUIL – CTM Introduction to Builders
•CTMBUEN – CTM Built Environment
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with
specialization on Geotechnical Engineering (GTE)

The GTE program aims to produce civil engineers

who are experts in the design of foundation and
earth-retaining structures, sub-surface exploration
and characterization of soils and other geo-
materials, risk assessment associated to geo-
hazards, and landfill disposal of wastes and
groundwater contamination.
•GTEROCK – Rock Mechanics
•GTEENVI – Geo-Environmental Engineering
•GTEUGRD – Underground Infrastructure Engineering
•GTESLOP – Slope Stability and Analysis
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with
specialization on Hydraulics and Water Resources
Engineering (HWR)

The HWR program aims to produce competent

engineers who can solve problems such as water
supply crisis, power shortage, insufficient food
supply due to poor irrigation, water pollution, and
disasters due to lahar and flood flows.
•HWRRGIS – Water Resources Engineering with Remote Sensing
•HWRFCDE – Flood Control, Waste Water, and Drainage Engineering
•HWRSDPD – Water Supply & Distribution, Treatment, Planning and Development
•HWRCORI – Coastal and River Engineering
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with
specialization on Structural Engineering (STE)

The STE program aims to produce competent

structural engineers who can provide technical
support in the infrastructure development of the
country.
•STEMTRX – Civil Programs in Structural Analysis
•STERQUA – Earthquake Engineering
•STEBLDG – Structural Design of Buildings
•STEBRDG – Bridge Engineering
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with
specialization on Transportation Engineering (TRE)

The TRE program aims to produce Transportation

and Highway Engineers who can provide technical
support in the government’s program of improving
and expanding the transportation system and
infrastructures of the country such as the LRT,
MRT, flyovers, skyways, airports, and harbors.
•TREMMTT – Mathematical Methods for Traffic and Transportation
•TREATPE – Advanced Transportation Planning and Engineering
•LBYCV4E – Advanced Transportation Planning Laboratory
•TREAPHS – Airport and Ports and Harbors Systems Planning
