Alkaline Water and Eye Health
Alkaline Water and Eye Health
Grandma, what big eyes you have! All the better to see you with, my dear. Eyesight is one of our five senses and it’s an
important one. It’s pretty safe to say that many of us have poor eyesight. Some of us have been wearing glasses since
childhood and some are starting to realize that you can’t read that small print in a book. Unfortunately, vision usually worsens
as we age. Here are some tips on keeping your eyes healthy for many years to come.
Studies have
shown that
omega-3 fatty
acids, lutein,
zinc and
vitamins C
and E may help
diminish age-
related vision
problems.
Foods
containing
these
nutrients
include:
Green, leafy vegetables
Carrots
Salmon, tuna and halibut
Eggs, nuts and beans
Oranges, grapefruit and other citrus fruits
Wear sunglasses
Too much exposure to UV light leaves you more susceptible to macular degeneration and cataracts. Be sure to pick a pair
which blocks at least 99% of both UVA and UVB rays.
Dr. Hidemitsu Hayashi, Director of the Water Institute of Japan, writes, “There is no substitute for a healthy balanced diet,
especially rich in antioxidant materials such as vitamin C, vitamin E, beta-carotene, and other foods that are good for us.
However, these substances are not the best source of free electrons that can block the oxidation of healthy tissue by active
oxygen. Water treated by electrolysis to increase its reduction potential is the best solution to the problem of providing a safe
source of free electrons to block the oxidation of normal tissue by free oxygen radicals.”
This means that one of the best ways to keep your eyes healthy is to drink antioxidant-rich ionized alkaline water fresh from a
water ionizer machine.
