And press the Enter Key Airline code and password field. (The Airline code field is
protected and cannot be changed).
Password Protection The password is defined by the Airline and is used to specify what
areas of the system can be accessed. It is controlled by SITA
Flight Operations, and can only be changed on the request of a
designated representative from the Airline.
The Eicon Aviva Keyboard should already be setup to allow the use of PF (Function)
Keys
whilst working in any session. If they are not working, you need to check that the
correct ‘keyboard map’ has been assigned (and not changed by mistake).
Then you should click on the SELECT tab and make ‘Current Map’ display IBM 101
Main Menu After entering your correct password, the first screen displayed is the Main
Menu.
The options available access the Flight Planning Database as described below.
PF1 Accesses the Flight Plan Request screens, for CFP submissions. (+ RFP and
viewing recent Flight Plans).
PF2 Displays the Flight Parameters Menu. This facility has several options, which
relate to the maintenance of the Parameter File.
PF4 Accesses the Navigation Files via the Navigation Database Menu. This is a
READ ONLY display.
PF5 Accesses the main Aircraft Details (ACATR) File Menu. This is a READ ONLY
display.
PF6 Free format input screen, allowing TTY type inputs directly to the computer.
PF1 displays the Flight Plan request screen (CFP). This interacts with the stored data held on
the Parameter file. This data maybe overridden and further Keywords added for your Flight
Plan request.
The left hand side shows the Parameter Record Directory. This is a scrollable list of all
Parameter records available for CFP submission. (Parameter records are further explained in
paragraph 4.11. Parameter Menu Options).
The right hand side displays details of the currently selected Parameter Record, highlighted at
the top of the screen ready for submission.
Are shown in both IATA and ICAO formats and cannot be overwritten except in the 9999
record. Values for ETD, ETA, CPN, EXT, MAD, MEL, ATC are taken from their defaults on the
Parameter record if stored. These can be amended if required. In addition, TAIL, REG, ZFWT,
PLD, OWE and ALT, AL2 and AL3 fields are available for input.
The lower section of the screen allows entry of additional Keywords if required. Customer
defined Mandatory Keywords will be displayed automatically (in this example CPT- DSP- ). (see
Section 11 for Keyword descriptions).
At the top right of the screen there is a field, which allows 'storage' of the Flight Plan after
submission. If a 'Y' is selected, the Flight Plan will be stored in the Output File (option 11) for
review. No selection will send the Flight Plan to the specified MAD address.
Next to the ZFWT, PLD and OWE fields, the weight units of the current screen (WEIGHTS IN)
are shown as either 'KGS' or 'LBS' depending on the setting of the input data held on the
Aircraft Attribute file. The value is entered when the aircraft is selected.
Select a Plan Parameter from the directory. Place an 'X' in the field provided and press ENTER.
This brings the selected record to the top of the screen and allows data to be entered in the
right hand section of the screen.
PF2 This key allows the cursor to move to all unprotected fields on the screen OR
only those associated with the current submission. From the screen above
PF2 would isolate the parameter record list and then only allow the TAB key to
move within the right hand section. Pressing PF2 again would regain access to
the parameter list enabling you to select a different flight parameter if required.
The parameter directory listing can be limited by using the 'Filter' option facility. This is
designed to aid the work of Dispatch staff by minimising the listing as required.
F10 from the Flight Plan request will display the Filter option.
Filter facility From this screen you may enter any combination of Flight Number, ICAO/IATA
City Pair and version number (if required). The Airline field is protected. In the
example below the filter selection was for all XS flights for sector EGLL-LSZH.
9999 Record Entering AB 9999 would display an input screen designed to allow CFP requests
when no Parameter record is held. All the fields on the screen can be amended,
including the Origin and Destination.
PF5 This key is used to look up data for certain fields on the request screen. Fields
currently available are TAIL / REG, ALT, AL2, AL3 and CPN.
TAB Use the TAB key to position the cursor in the required field,
This will display options available relevant to the selected field. Example below shows all aircraft
types loaded under fleet AB when using the 'LOOK UP' on the TAIL or REG fields.
Place an 'X' in the field next to the type number. This will display all available Aircraft
registrations held for that type. By then placing an ‘X’ beside a specific Tail Number, the aircraft
is selected and returns to the CFP screen.
Another look up example is for the ALT, which will display a list of the Alternates currently
loaded in the database and available for the Destination, as shown below.
After each selection of data from the 'Lookups', the Request screen is redisplayed with the
relative field now loaded with your selection. Further amendments can be made if required.
Additional Keywords can be entered in the bottom section of the main screen. Keywords
should be entered in the standard format, as used for TTY inputs.
Multiple Keywords Multiple Keywords may be entered on the same line, each Keyword
separated by a comma ( , ). F9 will display a second page, to input more
Keywords as required. The Keywords from page 1 are also shown. F9 is
a 'toggle' switch, press it again to go back to the first page.
If more than 5 lines of Keywords are entered on the second page, then returning to the first
page will only show the first 5. However, the rest are not lost, and will be used in the Flight
Plan when submitted.
If any errors are found, the first Error Message is displayed on the bottom line and/or if
applicable the cursor is placed at the field in error.
Use this key to display Error Messages. They have been designed so that where applicable, the
Keyword format value or range information is displayed.
For example:-
If more than one error is found, or if an error message runs onto 2 or more lines, then the
message:
'==> PF4 FOR MORE' is shown to the right of the error line.
Pressing F4 from the main screen displays the Error Message screen, and allows you to
identify and correct multiple errors with minimum screen transmissions. The Error Message
screen may show several, but not necessarily all, errors currently found, see below.
Can be obtained by typing an 'X' against an error message and pressing ENTER if it refers to a
specific Keyword. This would access the Help system description and format examples for the
Keyword. (The Help System is further explained in paragraph 4.7)
Press ENTER to validate then F6 to submit your request after validation is complete.
Reference Number
If all input parameters are valid then the Plan is submitted and a message is displayed showing
the Flight Plan Reference Number (see above example indicating Reference Number BHYD5)
The Reference Number allocated is unique and relates to the actual input.
If the input has been made to the Standby Facility then the Reference Number will begin with a
numeric (for example 1HYD5).
Enter the Flight Plan Reference Number OR press F1 to select the full Directory. The
Directory shows all Flight Plans produced within the previous 24 hours.
Place an 'X' next to the Plan reference to be displayed and press ENTER. The Flight Plan is
displayed as shown below.
By paging through the screens using the PF7 and PF8 keys the whole plan can be viewed.
You can then view, for example, the ICAO plan, WXS- and other Summary information, as in
the example below.
F6 will display the screen required to repeat a Flight Plan or part of the Flight Plan.
Enter details as required to either resend the Flight Plan to different SITA addresses or repeat
part of the Flight Plan using the FMT ident as seen on the Right hand side of the View RFP
page. See example below requesting resend of the ICAO plan to MAD-ABCDEFG HJKLMNO
AND /QAX04 (QLLC/STARS type address).
F6 will validate the input and resend the Plan or parts of to the addresses specified.
It is available from the main CFP request screen using the F1 key.
The F7 and F8 keys are used to Scroll through the pages. Wherever a Format or Example line
is shown, an input field appears beside it as a dash.
Insert 'X' and press ENTER to put the selected Keyword onto the Request screen. This will
paste that format into the next vacant Keyword line on the main screen.
Pressing F1 from the Flight Plan Request screen displays the Help System Menu.
The Help System provides different category options to view and select as required.
The first option is an alphabetical list of Keywords. These may be scrolled through and a
particular Keyword selected. The other options are categorised dependent on function.
Selecting one of these options displays an alphabetical list of Keywords in that category,
Example: selecting 'Navigation Related' displays ALT, AL2, AL3, BLK...etc. These may be
scrolled through and the desired Keyword selected.
Use PF7 or PF8 to page through the list until the Keyword required is visible.
Keyword Code Another way of access, is to enter the Keyword code in the field provided at the
top of the screen. This directly accesses the Help Screen for that Keyword, for
example RTE-
F6 Submit Flight Plan (subject to validation). If there is any area that needs a
correction, pressing this key will move the cursor to the field and display an error
message on the bottom line of the screen.
F7 Scroll directory backwards. Any data input on current screen (right hand side)
will be lost.
F8 Scroll directory forwards. Any data input on current screen (right hand side) will
be lost.
F10 Display Filter Screen. Any data input on current screen will be lost.
F11 Output - view Flight Plan output. Will only show those Flight Plans run within the
previous 24 hours. (Not available from second page).

line you type must have a closed bracket > for the request to be validated. Although the
example above shows a space after the text, you do not actually need one.
Any error messages will be returned to the TypeB address at the top of the screen (in the
example above it will be .ABCDEFG).
Overview
The purpose of Company Notes, is to provide customers with the ability to specify criteria,
which when met by details in the flight plan request, will trigger pre-stored messages to print on
their flight plans.
For example, if a customer is notified of a problem with a taxiway at a particular airfield, they
can now set up within Company Notes, a criteria which means that if they ever request a flight
plan which uses this airfield, then the flight plan will be returned to them, with a pre-defined
message printed.
The customer defines the messages to be printed, and the criteria for the printing of these
messages.
Due to the fact that Company Notes will add characters to your flight plan output, the position at
which the characters print needs to be defined by the customer, before use of the facility is
possible. To define where the characters will print, customers should send a plain text
message, with an attached example if possible, to the SITA Flight Briefing Product Support
Department. They will then change your airlines format to be able to incorporate the Company
Notes.
As this is a password-protected facility within the Flight Planning system, a separate message
should be sent specifying the preferred passwords to be used.
A new PF key has been added to the main customer menu as shown below:
As can be seen in the above diagram, PF8 now gives the “Company Notes” option.
Selecting this PF key, will give access to the screen shown below.
NOTE: At this stage you are prompted for a password. You should contact Product Support
Team with a request for a password if you don’t currently have one loaded. You should also
