Oreo Packaging-

How Can it Be Changed?

InDesign Package Redesign Project
Why Redesign Oreo Packaging?

Personally, I think the current Oreo packaging just doesn’t

look good. Of course it is trying to appeal to children with the
giant cookie and almost squishy text, but the whole thing only
flows because of its colors. If the logo had any color scheme
other than white and blue it just wouldn't work. I’m going to
change the target audience to adults with my design, for a
change of pace. I’ll use sleek decorative text and more
traditional book text for the smaller writing. Hopefully this
mixes together to create appealing packaging.

Redesign and Inspiration:
The Mockups

Next, I created some mockups so the product could be

viewed as a 3d object. I ran into some problems here though.
The oreo package itself doesn’t have any mockups of it
available, so I had to compromise and use the average 4*4
rectangle box template instead. I feel like this does contribute
to the feel of the product, though. It makes it more sleek, and
compliments the design that I made, so, in the end, it worked
out pretty well. I also created another version of the product
and put it on a mockup, a lemon version.

Ad

Next, I created an Ad for the product. I decided to go with a

gradient background that lightens at the bottom to put
emphasis on the product and it’s packaging. I kept the text and
surrounding items simple as to not take away from the
packaging itself, so people see the box and not the things
around it first.
Design Board.

Finally I created a design

board to quickly summarize my
vision and the various things I
made to see it through.
