Re: Academic year timeframes

Dear Parents and Students:

This is to confirm the following timeframes relating as per the dictations of the University of Havana,
University of Medical Sciences of Havana, the Ministry of Higher Education and Ministry of Public
Health. Kindly be aware, the following timeframes are applicable to the “Spanish language pre-medical”
program, as well as the “Doctor of Medicine”, “Doctor of Dentistry”, and “Nursing” programs:

- Academic year: All academic programs will commence in the second week of February and end
in the second week of December
- Holidays: In addition to the standard national holidays, students will have 2 (two) months
summer vacation in July and August. Students will have to return to Cuba in September in order
to resume their academic year
