3 Disassembly
3.1 Lower Unit
The disassembly is done in the following order:

1. Battery Cover (a) & Battery (b)
2. Co-Branding
3. Lower Outer Cover Assy
4. Main&BT Antenna Box with speaker
5. Main PCBA
6. Core Unit Label
3.1.1 Battery Cover & Battery

Unsnap the corner hook of the Battery Cover by using a
front opening tool as shown in the picture.
Unsnap and remove the Battery Cover.
Lift the Battery from its cavity by using a front opening tool.

Disassembly: Lower Unit
Remove the Battery.
Remove the 3 screws with a screwdriver by using a Torx bit

No.5.
3.1.2 Co-Branding
Open the phone.
Insert a dentist hook under the corner of the Co-Branding
and pull upwards.
Don’t destroy the Lower Inner Assy!
Detach and remove it by using a tweezers.

Scrap! Not to be reused!

Remove the 2 screws by using a Torx bit No. 6.
3.1.3 Lower Outer Cover Assy.

There are 5 hooks around as shown in the picture.
Insert the guitar pick and slide it forth and back to unsnap
one side.
Unsnap the other side.

Unsnap the top side.
Unsnap the 2 hooks by using a front opening tool.
Remove the Lower Outer Cover Assy.
3.1.4 Main&BT Antenna Box with

speaker
Lift up the SIM FPC by using a front opening tool.

Insert the tweezers under the corner of the Main&BT

Antenna Box with speaker as shown in the picture.
Pull upwards to detach the Main&BT Antenna Box with

speaker.
Remove it.
3.1.5 Main PCBA

Unsnap the 3 hooks with the front opening tool.
Make sure the locking key is in open status.

Disconnect the Keyboard FPC PCBA connector on inner

side of the Main PCBA Assy.
Disconnect the Hinge FPC connector.
Remove the PCBA.
3.1.6 Core Unit Label

Read the old Core Unit Label and/or write the information
into the ‘LabelMake’ program before removal.
Carefully insert a dentist hook under the corner of the Core
Unit Label.

Detach and remove the Core Unit Label with a tweezers.

3.2 Upper Unit

3.2.1 Style up Cover

There are 9 hooks around the Style Up Cover.
Unsnap one side with a guitar pick sliding forth and back.
Continue to unsnap the other side.

Disassembly: Upper Unit
Continue to unsnap the top side.
Remove the Style Up Cover.
3.2.2 Upper Outer Cover Assy

Peel open the Shielding Film for GPS (For W518a).
Remove the 4 screws by using JCIS No.0 bit.

There are 7 hooks around the Upper Outer Cover Assy.
First unsnap the bottom side.
Unsnap the right-handed side by using a guitar pick.
Continue to unsnap the other side.

Lift the bottom of the Outer Cover Assy carefully and

remove it as shown by the arrow.
Do not break the long hook underneath.
3.2.3 Sub LCD

Disconnect the Sub LCD connector by using a front opening
tool.
Detach the Sub LCD by using a guitar pick.

Remove it.
3.2.4 Touch Sensor FPC & Sub

PCBA
Ddisconnect the Main LCD connector (1), Hinge FPC
connector (2), GPS connector (3) by using a front opening
tool (W518a).
Disconnect the Main LCD connector (1), Hinge FPC

connector (2), Sub Camera connector (3) by using a front
opening tool (W508 and W508a).
Detach the Touch Sensor FPC from the Upper Inner Cover
and disconnect the Touch Sensor connector (4).

Fold the Touch Sensor over.
Detach the Sub PCBA by using a dentist hook.
Detach the Camera from the ESD Fabric underneath and

take it out from its cavity.
Remove the Sub PCBA and the Camera.

Feel the ESD Fabric off by using a flex film assembly tool.
Peel off the ESD Fabric.

Scrap. Not to be reused!
Take the vibrator out of its cavity by using a dentist hook.
Remove the Touch Sensor FPC.

Remove the Vibrator Grommet.
Remove the Hinge Clip.
Open the phone and push the Hinge from outside by using a
dentist hook.
Pay attention not to touch or deform the grounding

spring.

3.2.5 Lower Inner Assy

Separate the Upper Inner Assy and Lower Inner Assy from
the hinge part.
Thread the Hinge FPC out from the slot of Lower Inner
Assy. And remove the Lower Inner Assy.
3.2.6 Upper Inner Assy & Hinge FPC

Thread the Hinge FPC from the slot of Upper Inner Assy.
Separate the Hinge FPC and the Upper Inner Assy.

Main Window Adhesive
Follow the 4.16 Removal instructions!

REMOVAL
Insert the dentist hook into the bumper’s hole and pull
upwards to release the Main Window Assy.
Peel it off by using a tweezers.
INSTALLATION
Clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol before attaching

new adhesives.
Attach a new Main Window Adhesive.

Press to secure the attachment of the Main Window

Adhesive.
Peel off the transparent protection foil.
Attach a new Main Window Assy above.
Press it by using Press tool& this model insert with 250N &

REMOVAL
Disconnect the Main LCD connector by using a front

opening tool.
Disconnect the GPS connector.
Detach the Touch Sensor FPC partly and fold it over by

using a flex film assembly tool.

Detach the flex film of the Main LCD.
Turn over the phone.

Thread the flex film through the slot and remove the LCD.
INSTALLATION
Thread the connector of a new Main LCD through the slot.
Place the LCD in place.

Press to attach the Main LCD flex film.
Press to connect the Main LCD connector.
Press to attach the Touch Sensor FPC.
Connect the GPS connector and press the speaker in its

cavity.

4.19 Volume Key

REMOVAL
Remove the Volume Key with a tweezers.
INSTALLATION
Place a new Volume Key in the slot.
Press to secure the placement.

4.20 Locking Key

REMOVAL
Position the Locking Key in the unlocking position.

Make sure the locking bolt is invisible in the unlocking
position.
Unsnap the hook on back side of the Locking Key by using

a front opening tool.
Push to release it by using a front opening tool.

INSTALLATION
Place one end of a new Locking Key in place by a tweezers.

Don’t break the locking bolt
Press to snap the other end of the Locking Key in place.

4.21 Core Unit Label

Read the old Core Unit Label and/or write the information
into the ‘LabelMake’ program before removal.
Prepare a new Core Unit Label.
Check that the proper label format is loaded in the Zebra
printer and write a new label by using ‘LabelMake’ software.
One label only is allowed!
REMOVAL
Remove the Core Unit Label.
INSTALLATION
Attach the printed new Core Unit Label.

Insert a dentist hook into the corner of one half of the

Spacer and pull upwards to release it.
Remove it.
Do the same to the other half.

INSTALLATION
Install a pair of new Spacer in place with a tweezers.
Press around to secure the attachment.
Peel off the transparent protective foil.

REMOVAL
Detach the volume key dome foil from the frame by using a
dentist hook.
Carefully take it out of the slot by a tweezers.

Insert the dentist hook into the corner of the Keyboard FPC
PCBA and pull it upwards to detach it.

Peel the Keyboard FPC PCBA off partly with a flex film
assembly tool.
Thread the flex (1) through the Lower Inner Assy as shown
by the arrow.

INSPECTION
To check whether the Liquid Intrusion Indicator has been

activated (reddish color).
If activated:
REMOVAL
Insert the dentist hook in the corner of the activated Liquid

Intrusion Indicator and pull it upwards to detach it.
INSTALLATION
Attach a new Liquid Intrusion Indicator to the position

pointed by the arrow.

Indicator and pull it upwards to detach it.
INSTALLATION
Attach a new one aligning the guide lines as shown by

arrows.

Follow the 3.2.1-3.2.2 Disassembly instructions!
REMOVAL
Disconnect the GPS connector (W518a).
Disconnect the Sub Camera connector (W508, W508a).
Detach the Touch Sensor FPC partly and fold it over by

using a flex film assembly tool.
Insert a dentist hook into the corner of the Gasket Touch

Sensor and pull upwards to detach it.

Remove it.
INSTALLATION
Attach a new Gasket Touch Sensor in place.
Press to attach the Touch Sensor FPC.

Connect the Bracket Sub Camera and press the speaker in

REMOVAL
Disconnect the Touch Sensor FPC connector by using a

front opening tool.
Lift the connecter and the speaker up.
Detach the GPS PCBA and remove it by using a tweezers.

Attach a new GPS PCBA in place.
Put the speaker back into its cavity and press to secure its
attachment.
Reconnect the Touch Sensor FPC connector.

Lift the Sub Camera and its connector by using a flex film
assembly tool.
Detach and remove the Bracket Sub Camera.
INSTALLATION
Attach a new Bracket Sub Camera in place.

REMOVAL
Lift a corner of the ESD Fabric by using a flex film assembly

tool.
Remove the ESD Fabric from the vibrator of the Touch

Sensor FPC.
INSALLATION
Attach a new ESD Fabric aligning the guide lines as shown

by the arrows.

Press part (1) to attach the fabric to the frame.
Press part (2) to attach fabric closely to the edges of the

frame.
Press part (3) to attach the fabric to the vibrator.
Peel off the protection foil.

REMOVAL
Unlock the Camera connector by using a front opening tool.
Take the Camera out of its cavity.

Install a new Shielding Film for GPS covering the square

hole according to the guiding lines.

Disconnect the Touch Sensor FPC connector by using a

REMOVAL
Insert a dentist hook in a corner of the ESD Fabric and lift

upwards to detach it from the vibrator.
Turn over the ESD Fabric.
Take the vibrator out of its cavity by using a dentist hook.

Replacement: Vibrator Grommet
Remove the Vibrator Grommet by using a tweezers.
INSTALLATION
Notice the installation orientation of a new Vibrator

Grommet.
Put it to the vibrator.
Put them in the cavity.

Press to secure the placement.
Put back the ESD Fabric onto the vibrator and press to
secure its attachment.

4.38 Hinge
REMOVAL
Push the Hinge till it is released from its slot by using a

tweezers.
Slide the Hinge out from the other end of the slot.
INSTALLATION
Put a new Hinge in the slot in the orientation as shown in

the picture.

4.39 Vera Shielding Can Lid

REMOVAL
Disconnect the SIM FPC by using a front opening tool.
Detach and remove the SIM FPC.
Detach the Main&BT Antenna Box with speaker by using a

front opening tool.

Replacement: Vera Shielding Can Lid
Remove it.
Insert a dentist hook under the corners of the Vera Shielding

Can and lift upwards to remove it.
INSTALLATION
Install a new Vera Shielding Can in place.
Press to snap it.

Attach the Main&BT Antenna Box with speaker.
Attach the SIM FPC in place.
Connect the SIM FPC connector.

Press to make sure the attachment.
Attach a new Liquid Intrusion Indicator.

5 Reassembly
5.1 Upper Unit

1. Upper Inner Assy (a) & Hinge FPC (b)
2. Lower Inner Assy
3. Touch Sensor FPC (a) & Sub PCBA (b)
4. Sub LCD
5. Upper Outer Cover Assy
6. Style Up Cover
5.1.1 Upper Inner Assy & Hinge FPC

Thread the Hinge FPC through the slot into the Upper Inner
Assy.
5.1.2 Lower Inner Assy

Thread the Hinge FPC through the slot of the Lower Inner
Assy.
Snap the Upper Inner Assy onto the Lower Inner Assy.

Reassembly: Upper Unit
Push the Hinge in place by using a tweezers.
Make sure the Hinge contact the grounding spring well.
Put the Hinge Clip in place in the orientation as shown.
Make sure its placement.

5.1.3 Touch Sensor FPC & Sub PCBA

Notice the orientation of a new Touch Sensor FPC as
shown in the picture.
Put it on the vibrator.
Place the vibrator on the Touch Sensor FPC with the

Vibrator Grommet into its cavity.
Attach a new ESD Fabric aligning the guide lines as shown

by the arrows.

Press part (1) to attach the fabric to the frame.
Press part (2) to attach fabric closely to the edges of the

frame.
Press part (3) to attach the fabric to the vibrator.
Put the Sub PCBA with Camera in place.

Press to attach the Sub PCBA.
Put the Camera into its cavity.
For W518, connect the Hinge FPC connector (1), Main LCD
connector (2), Touch Sensor connector (3) and GPS
connector (4).
For W508, W508a, connect the Hinge FPC connector (1),

Main LCD connector (2), Touch Sensor connector (3) and
Sub Camera connector (4).

Press on the Touch Sensor FPC to attach it to the Upper

Inner Assy.
5.1.4 Sub LCD

Attach the Sub LCD in place.
Connect it to the Sub PCBA.
Press on the corners to secure the attachment.

5.1.5 Upper Outer Cover Assy

Put the Upper Outer Cover in place.
Press one side to snap the hooks.
Press the other side to snap the hooks.
Use JCIS No.0 bit to tighten the four screws to a torque of

8±2 Ncm (W518a).

Press on the Shielding Film to secure the attachment

(W518a).
5.1.6 Style Up Cover

Place the Style up Cover in place.
Press one side to snap the hooks.
Press the other side.

5.2 Lower Unit

1. Main PCBA
2. Main&BT Antenna Box with speaker

5.2.1 Main PCBA

Connect the Hinge FPC connector to the Main PCBA.
Turn over the Main PCBA Assy and align it by the guide
holes as shown by the arrows.
Make sure the Locking Key is in locking status.
Connect the Keyboard FPC PCBA connector to the Main

PCBA.

Reassembly: Lower Unit
Press to snap the Main PCBA.
Press Hinge FPC to secure the attachment.
5.2.2 Main&BT Antenna Box with

speaker
Lift the SIM FPC PCBA to a certain angle and put the
Main&BT Antenna Box with speaker in place.
Press on Main&BT Antenna Box with speaker to secure its

attachment.

Press on the SIM FPC PCBA to secure its attachment.
5.2.3 Lower Outer Cover Assy.

Put the Lower Outer Cover in place.
Press one side.
Press the other side.

5.2.4 Co-Branding
Turn over and open the phone
Use a screwdriver with a torx bit No.6 to tighten the 2
screws to a torque of 15±2 Ncm.
Attach a new Co-Branding in place.
Press it to secure its attachment.
5.2.5 Core Unit Label

Close the phone and Turn it over.
Use a screwdriver with a torx bit No.5 to tighten screw (1) to
a torque of 9±2 Ncm and screw (2) and (3) to a torque of
14±2 Ncm.

Check that the proper label format is loaded in the Zebra

printer and write a new label by using ‘LabelMake’ software.
Attach a new Core Unit Label in place.
5.2.6 Battery Cover & Battery

Place the Battery in place.
Press it into the cavity.

Install the Battery Cover.
Press around to snap the hooks.

Working Instructions

The disassembly is done in the following order:

3.1.1 Battery Cover & Battery

Unsnap and remove the Battery Cover.

Remove the Battery.

Remove the 3 screws with a screwdriver by using a Torx bit

Detach and remove it by using a tweezers.

Remove the 2 screws by using a Torx bit No. 6.

3.1.3 Lower Outer Cover Assy.

Unsnap the other side.

Unsnap the top side.

Unsnap the 2 hooks by using a front opening tool.

Remove the Lower Outer Cover Assy.

3.1.4 Main&BT Antenna Box with

Insert the tweezers under the corner of the Main&BT

Pull upwards to detach the Main&BT Antenna Box with

3.1.5 Main PCBA

Disconnect the Keyboard FPC PCBA connector on inner

Disconnect the Hinge FPC connector.

Remove the PCBA.

3.1.6 Core Unit Label

Detach and remove the Core Unit Label with a tweezers.

The disassembly is done in the following order:

3.2.1 Style up Cover

Continue to unsnap the other side.

Continue to unsnap the top side.

Remove the Style Up Cover.

3.2.2 Upper Outer Cover Assy

Remove the 4 screws by using JCIS No.0 bit.

There are 7 hooks around the Upper Outer Cover Assy.

First unsnap the bottom side.

Unsnap the right-handed side by using a guitar pick.

Continue to unsnap the other side.

Lift the bottom of the Outer Cover Assy carefully and

Do not break the long hook underneath.

3.2.3 Sub LCD

Detach the Sub LCD by using a guitar pick.

3.2.4 Touch Sensor FPC & Sub

Disconnect the Main LCD connector (1), Hinge FPC

Fold the Touch Sensor over.

Detach the Sub PCBA by using a dentist hook.

Detach the Camera from the ESD Fabric underneath and

Remove the Sub PCBA and the Camera.

Peel off the ESD Fabric.

Take the vibrator out of its cavity by using a dentist hook.

Remove the Touch Sensor FPC.

Remove the Vibrator Grommet.

Remove the Hinge Clip.

Pay attention not to touch or deform the grounding

3.2.5 Lower Inner Assy

3.2.6 Upper Inner Assy & Hinge FPC

Separate the Hinge FPC and the Upper Inner Assy.

4.1 Battery Cover

4.3 Lower Outer Cover Assy

4.4 Main&BT Antenna Box

4.5 Style up Cover
