LP 1
I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the learners are expected to:
Identify the space figures
Give examples of objects that represent space figures
Infer the value of moderate eating
Concepts:
Space figures are made up of plane figures put together to enclose a space.
A cube is made of 6 faces. Each space is a square of equal size.
A rectangular prism is also made of 6 faces. Each face is a rectangle.
A cylinder is made of a rectangular side when flattened and 2 circles on top and bottom.
A cone has a circular base and a triangular shaped body. It looks like a triangle with
round flat end.
A triangular prism is formed by putting rectangles and triangles together.
A sphere is a figure that is perfectly round and circular like ball.

III. PROCEDURE
A. Preliminary Activity
1. Daily Routine
-Good morning, children !
-It’s nice to see you all!
-Let us start our day with a short prayer, who wants to lead?
-Everybody, please stand straight, keep quiet, bow your head and close your eyes.
-Before you sit, please pick up those pieces of paper and plastic around you. Then, arrange your
desks properly.
-Wow! Because everybody is present today, give yourselves a “very good clap”.
2. Review/Recall
-Class, what do you see on the board?
-Very good! Can you identify each of them?
Plane Figures
-Good job, everyone! Do you know the song “3D Shapes Song”?
-If not, I will sing it first while playing the video. Then, you will sing with me.
Is that clear?

-Let us find out later how these shapes are related to our lesson for today.
B. Lesson Proper
1. Motivation
Is it mouth – watering?
-Class, you should not eat all of these. Children, remember that “too much of everything is harmful.”
Eating too much chocolates can cause diabetes and tootaches. You can share it to your family or
friends.
3. Discussion
1) CUBE
2) RECTANGULAR PRISM
3) PYRAMID
A pyramid is composed of triangular faces that meet a common point.
4) CYLINDER
A cylinder is made of a rectangular side when flattened and two circles on top and bottom.
5) CONE
6) TRIANGULAR PRISM
7) SPHERE
4. Enrichment Activity
(The teacher will ask the learners to give their examples of objects that are of the same shape with
the space figures discussed.)
5. Generalization
-Class, remember that space figures are made up of flat shapes put together to enclose a space.
6. Application
Activity 1
Now children, let’s play a game!
Game: Pick and Tell
Mechanics: The learner will pick an object from the ‘Space Box” and he/she will tell what space
figure does it looks like.
Onion
Canned sardines
Ball
Pringles
Toblerone
Nestle All-Purpose Cream
Bell Pepper
Rubics Cube
Yema
Activity 2
Game: “Hit Me Baby One More Time”
Mechanics: The class will be divided into two. Each group should have a representative for each
question. The answers are posted in the board. Using a fly swatter, the first player to hit the correct
answer twice will get a point.
IV. Evaluation
V. ASSIGNMENT
Draw any object that represents each space figure.
1. Cube
2. Pyramid
3. Rectangular prism
4. Sphere
5. Cone
6. Triangular prism
7. Cylinder
