Careers in Biology

The science of Biology is progressing day by day. New and

modern fields are coming into existence. Following are the
carriers that a student of Biology can plan to adopt.

A) Medical Profession:
The students get degree of MBBS
after passing F.Sc to adopt this profession.
There are two main divisions of medical profession.
Medicine and surgery.
Medicine is concerned with the diagnosis and treatment
of human diseases.
Surgery is concerned with the repairing and removal of
different body parts of human beings.
 B) Fisheries:
The study of production of all those
animals on commercial scale which are obtained from sea
or rivers is called fisheries.
The fisheries profession can be adopted by students after
getting master degree in marine science or zoology and
bachelor degree in fisheries.

c) Agriculture:
This field basically deals with human
food.
Agriculture is the cultivation of plants for
food,biofuel,fibre and other products used to sustain
human life.
The students after passing F.Sc in Biology can become
agriculturist by getting master degree or bachelor degree
in agriculture.
 D) Animal Husbandry:
It is the professional study of
the care, betterment and breeding of livestock(Domestic
animals).
Professional courses in animal husbandry can be adopted
after passing F.Sc with biology.

E) Horticulture:
It is the branch of agriculture.
Horticulture is the science of producing
gardens,fruits,vegetables,flowers and ornamental plants.
This profession can be adopted by getting professional degree in
horticulture after passing F.Sc with biology.
F) Farming:
A person who has got professional
degree in FISHERIES,AGRICULTURE,ANIMAL HUSBANDRY
etc,can form different type of farms.

G) Forestry:
Forestry is a scientific knowledge in which we
study about the production of artificial forest in an area
along with the protection of natural forest.
Forestry is also concerned with getting more timber, for
the biodiversity management, to provide habitat to
wildlife etc.
Professional degree can be obtained in forestry after
passing B.Sc with zoology and botany.

H) Biotechnology:
Biotechnology is the use of organisms or
their systems to make specific products.
Professional courses in biotechnology can be adopted
after passing F.Sc or B.Sc with biology.
