Professor Angel Aerry Choi taught us about outline of Business Analytics.

First, she taught us about the overall concept about Business Analytics.

According to her, Business Analytics is a set of disciplines and technologies for solving
business problems using data analysis, statistical models and other quantitative methods.
It involves an iterative, methodical exploration of an organization’s data, with an
emphasis

on statistical analysis, to drive decision-making. Business analytics utilizes various

techniques and tools, including statistical analysis, data mining, predictive modeling,
machine learning, and data visualization. By applying these techniques to data generated
by different business processes, such as sales, marketing, finance, operations, and
customer service, organizations can uncover valuable insights and make data-driven
decisions.

Second, she taught us about how the business analytics work.

The primary goal of business analytics is to support decision-making and improve

business performance. It helps businesses understand their operations better, optimize
processes, identify areas of improvement, and gain a competitive advantage. Business
analytics can be used to address a wide range of business challenges, such as improving
sales forecasting, optimizing marketing campaigns, managing inventory, enhancing
customer satisfaction, and reducing costs. Also she emphasizes data analytics. Data
analytics refers to the process of examining, transforming, and interpreting data to
uncover meaningful patterns, insights, and trends. It involves using various techniques
and tools to extract knowledge and value from data sets, enabling organizations to make
informed decisions and solve complex problems.

It was my first business analysis lecture as a business student. It was easy to understand
because the professor explained it in detail one by one. Above all, by explaining the
business-specific management field, my understanding of my major could be improved.
In particular, at the end, there was an activity where I could experience business analysis
through a virtual Excel table, and I could also experience indirectly as a professional
manager by sharing it with my friends and sharing my thoughts. Next time, I would like
to learn various models in which business analysis is actually used for corporate
management. It was the most memorable and informative class as a freshman in
business administration.
