Pre and Post 2-mile Testing

2-mile instructions
 Map out your run ahead of time to know your exact 2-mile route to prevent any confusion
during the run (multiple websites can help with this).
 Try to avoid hills and heavy traffic areas.
 Use the exact same route for both the Pre and Post 2-mile runs.
 Take Resting Heart Rate the morning of run.
 Take Post-Run Heart Rate within 15 seconds of finishing the 2 miles.

Taking your Heart Rate

 At the wrist: lightly press the index and middle fingers of one hand on the opposite wrist,
just below the base of the thumb.
or
 At the neck: lightly press the side of the neck, just below your jawbone.
 Count the number of beats in 15 seconds and multiply by four. That's your heart rate.
For Resting Heart Rate, take pulse when you have been resting for a long period of time and are
not anxious or stressed.
For Post-Run Heart Rate, take within 15 seconds of finishing your run so that your heart rate
reflects more of your heart rate running instead of a recovering heart rate.
