IECEx Certificate
of Conformity
Certificate No.: IECEx CSA 16.0042X Page 2 of 5
Manufacturing
locations:
This certificate is issued as verification that a sample(s), representative of production, was assessed and tested and found to comply with the
IEC Standard list below and that the manufacturer's quality system, relating to the Ex products covered by this certificate, was assessed and
found to comply with the IECEx Quality system requirements. This certificate is granted subject to the conditions as set out in IECEx Scheme
Rules, IECEx 02 and Operational Documents as amended
STANDARDS :
The equipment and any acceptable variations to it specified in the schedule of this certificate and the identified documents, was found
to comply with the following standards
IEC 60079-11:2011 Explosive atmospheres - Part 11: Equipment protection by intrinsic safety "i"
Edition:6.0
IEC 60079-15:2010 Explosive atmospheres - Part 15: Equipment protection by type of protection "n"
Edition:4
IEC 60079-7:2017 Explosive atmospheres - Part 7: Equipment protection by increased safety "e"
Edition:5.1
This Certificate does not indicate compliance with safety and performance requirements
other than those expressly included in the Standards listed above.

EQUIPMENT:
Equipment and systems covered by this Certificate are as follows:
3300XL Proximitors designed to measure the vibration and position of the machines with fluid bearings, pumps, compressors, and turbines.
The Proximitor generates a radio frequency signal that is radiated in a suitable certified probe. The voltage induced in the probe end by the
eddy currents indicates the vibration and position. The Proximitor maybe hosed with a plastic PROXPAC XL enclosure. A detailed description
is provided in the annex attached to this certificate.

The 3300XL Proximitor is designed to measure the vibration and position of the machines with fluid
bearings, pumps, compressors, and turbines. The Proximitor generates a radio frequency signal that is
radiated in a suitable certified probe. The voltage induced in the probe end by the eddy currents indicates
the vibration and position. The Proximitor maybe hosed with a plastic PROXPAC XL enclosure.
The Proximitor consists of components mounted on a printed circuit board (PCB) that is encapsulated within
a metallic enclosure. Connection to the Proximitor is made via spring leaf screw-less or screw terminals.
The Proximitors covered by this certificate are as follows:
The PROXPAC XL device consists of a IP66 housing with an encapsulated electronics module (Proximitor)
and a proximity probe. The electronics are identical between the Proximitor device described above and
the PROXPAC XL with the only difference being that the PROXPAC XL is provided with an IP66 enclosure.
The Proximitor is mounted inside the housing with tamper-proof screws. The probe extends through the
wall of the housing.
The PROXPAC models covered by this certificate are as follows:
The only difference is that the 330880 version has imperial units while the 330881 version has metric units.
Input/ output parameters for Ex ia:
Terminal J1 (Input):
Ui = -28V Ii = 140mA Pi = 0.91W Ci = 47 nF Li = 1460 μH
Terminal J2 (Output):
Uo = -28V Io = 140mA* Po = 0.742W Co = 1.5nF Lo = 610μH
To confirm compliance with clause 10.1.5.2-a of IEC 60079-11:2011, this device has been successfully
tested with linear supply for spark ignition with both the inductance and capacitance of the circuit. Therefore,
additional reduction of allowed inductance and capacitance as per clause 10.1.5.2-b-2 is not considered
necessary when supply with linear characteristic is used. The final installation is subject to review and
acceptance by Authority Having Jurisdiction.
Proximitors:
Intrinsically Safe Type Ex ia:
1. The Proximitor must be installed so as to minimize the risk of impact or friction with other metallic
surfaces.
2. The Proximitor is required to be connected to two barriers (a power barrier and a signal barrier) or
a barrier with two channels (a power channel and a signal channel). The Ui (28V) & Ii (140mA)
parameters are the worst case voltage and current from the combination of these barriers, but
they cannot appear at the same time. It is end-user’s responsibility to ensure that the combined
voltage and current of the two barriers does not exceed the values of Table A.1 of IEC 60079-11.
PROXPAC XL:
Intrinsically safe Type Ex ia:
1. The ProxPAC XL must be installed so as to minimize the risk of impact or friction with other
metallic surfaces.
