Have the childeen sit in a circle, Today we'll start
with a game. Think of something special about
yourself that you can tell the group. Try to
think of something that nobody in the group
might already know about you. It might be

color, a contest you won, a
special place you have visited, or someone
special you've met. Give the children a moment to
think. Here's how we play the game. We're
going to pass an ice cube around the circle.
When it’s your turn to hold the ice cube, tell
us something special about yourself. Then pass
the ice cube to the next child. We'll see if we
can make it all around the circle before the
ice cube melts.
Be the first one to hold the ice cube and briefly tel
something about yourself, then hand the ice cube to 2
child next to you. Let that child share something and
then pass the ice cube to the next child, Continue
until all the children have had a turn, Hold up the
cube to show the kids how the size had
changed. Congratulate the children on getting the ice
cube around the room before it melted.
It's nice
We really learned a lot of new thing
when we can tell our friends something they
might not have known before. if you have visitors
in your group, make them feel special and talk about
how nice it sto make new friends
Our ice cube game reminds me of tell
people about Jesus. As you passed the ice
cube, it changed as it melted. When you tell
people about Jesus, you're telling them
something that can change their life.
I hope that this week we can all share the
good news about Jesus with someone. In our
Bible story, we'll find out how important it is
to tell our friends about Jesus.
If you are separating the elementary and preschool
children for the Bible story, have your Park Patrol
members lead them to the appropriate class areas at
this time. If you are keeping them together, be sure to
use the Elementary Bible Story to teach the lesson.
The children will come together again for the puppet
presentation

Soon Paul came to Corinth. Paul wanted to

tentmakers. Paul stayed with them, and they
worked together to make tents to sell. Have the

Paul spent a lot of his time teaching about
Jesus. He would go to the synagogue and other
places to teach both Jews and non-Jews. Paul
wanted everyone to hear about Jesus. Have the
kids stand up and pretend to teach.

Preparation: Thread the needle with 2 length of
yarn Tape the other end ofthe yarn to the bottom of
the bed sheet. This willbe your “tent” Dress as either \
Priscilla or Aquila. One name will be used in the story,
but you may need to substitute to fit the part you are

Bible called Acts. Show Acts 18 in your Bible

to my shop. I work here with my wife, Priscilla

because we sew heavy cloth to make tents. We
used to live in a big city called Corinth. And
we love Jesus. He's our friend!
Let me tell you about a friend of ours. His
name is Paul. He is Jesus’ friend too. Paul
travels from town to town, telling people
about Jesus. One day, Paul came to Corinth.

our friend and stayed with us. He helped us
take tents. While we worked, Paul taught us
many things about Jesus.
When it was time for Paul to leave Corinth, we
went with him. The three of us got on a boat.
We sailed to the city of Ephesus. Paul stayed
for just a little while. We opened another
tentmaking shop. We didn’t just make tents—
we told people about Jesus!
(One day a man named Apollos came to town.
‘Apollos loved God and knew a lot about God's
Book. He even knew about one of Jesus’
friends, named John the Baptist. But Apollos
didn't know much about Jesus. We invited
{Apollos to our house. We told him all about
Jesus. Then Apollos was able to teach people
‘more about Jesus.
Paul helped us learn more about Jesus. We
helped Apollos learn more about Jesus. Jesus’
friends help one another. They tell new friends
about Jesus.
How did Aquila, Priscilla, and Paul become
friends? (They made tents together.) What did Paul
tell Aquila and Priscilla? (He told them more about
Jesus.) What did Aquila and Priscilla tell
‘Apollos? (They told him more about Jesus.)

children repeat it after you. When the children are
familiar with it, divide the children into teams of four

before the next child can tun and pass it along. The

set out thythm instruments, and let the children play
them as they sing the Unit 9 Song, “Good Friends,”
along with the CD. Let the children abo choose ather

Keeping Track Bags
Supplies: Paper lunch bags, construction paper circles
Preparation: Cut circles from construction paper, about
‘bwo inches in diameter. Cut atleast five for each chil.
We can tell our friends about Jesus! What sorts
of things can we tell our friends? Let the kids
share their ideas. Be sure to include the facts that Jesus
died on the cross for our sins, He rose from the dead,
‘and He is alive in heaven to hear our prayers and help
us. Be accepting of all sorts of other facts that the
children know, from the Christmas story to last week's
lesion. Younger children may only be able to come up
swith “Jesus loves us,” and that’s okay.
Just as Paul told Aquila and Priscilla about
Jesus, and they told Apollos about Jesus, we

also can tell people about Jesus. Let's think
about who we could tell ail these things about
Jesus to. Who could you tell about Jesus this
‘week? Encourage the children to name everyone
they come in contact withfriends, classmates, family.
Give each child a paper lunch bag and five paper
circles, Help the children write "Tell about Jesus!” on
their bags. This bag will help you keep track
during the week of who you prayed for and
who you told about Jesus. These circles
represent the heads of people. Each time you
pray for someone, drop a circle in your bag.
‘And each time you tell someone about Jesus,
take out one of the circles and draw a smiley
face on it. Then keep it in your bag. You can
‘add more circles all week long as you pray for
more people and tell more people about Jesus.
Divide the children into small groups and encourage
them to take turns praying for someone they would
like to tell about Jesus. After naming each person, the
children drop 2 circle into their bags. When finshed,
close by thanking Jesus for His friendship and asking
His help in telling others about Him this week. Have
the children waite their names on their bags. Then
collect the bags until the end of clas.
