Pull on the wire, close to each terminal location, to ensure a tight connection is made. Check all auxiliary equipment fastening bolts and screws for tightness and carefully remove all packing material and shunts. ‘The Unit Control Panel must be kept in an environment free of oil vapors and dust accumulation to achieve a long, trouble-free life. Oil vapor and dirt accumulations will eventually breakdown the insulation and possibly cause shorts and equipment failure. Periodic cleaning of all exposed wiring and routine checking for loose connections is recommended. Auxiliary equipment should be maintained as per manufacturer's methods as found in the instructions supplied in the Vendor Documentation portion of the manual. PRECAUTIONS, The following precautions should be observed when working with digital logic circuits and/or processor-based controls. Always remove power from the system when replacing or removing circuits, boards, or modules. Failure to do so could result in damage to the integrated circuits. Ensure that the circuit boards or modules are inserted in the correct position and that the integrated circuits are inserted into the sockets properly. The 8MDDI card can support up to eight (8) 16PBLEDMDMs, all connected in series by a 64-conductor flat cable. The pushbutton module can be mounted in the standard FT100 Display frame, E544-005, which is a rigid framework of aluminum extrusions assembled with blind fasteners. Frames vary in size up to a four by four matrix. ‘The 16PBLEDMDM can also be directly connected to the FT50 Main Board (ZE544~050-001 or ZE544-050-002) using a single 64-pin ribbon cable. Please note that the ZE544-002A-830 card is not required with the FTS0. ‘The 16PBLEDMDM is manufactured with two (2) vertical pockets to accommodate slipin legend placards for ease of replacement. The switch was chosen for its positive tactile feel and solid state Hall Effect switch sensor. A translucent color cap diffuses the light from the LED (Light Emitting Diode) in a very effective manner. Each LED is rear mounted in a twistlock holder for easy of replacement. Red LEDs and switch caps are standard; however, any can be easily replaced with green or yellow LEDs and caps. FEATURES: + 16 Lighted Switches - Field Changeable Legends - Solid-State Switch Sensors and LEDs - Easy Mounting within the FT100 Display Frame L.General: The Pushbutton Multiplexed Display Module, 16PBLEDMDM, and its supporting Interface card, 8MDDI, are used in an FT100 system to support the Controller Processor and its Digital Channel Data Base for real-time control applications. Each 16PBLEDMDM inputs data from the digital database and writes t016 digital channels. The LEDs receive data from 16 digital channels. A single 8MDDI card or FT50 Main Board can support a total of 256 digital database channels (128 input channels and 128 output channels); therefore, as many as four (4) of the 32LEDMDMS can be connected. Refer to the 8MDDI manual, ZB544-002L-840, for combinations of this and other Multiplexed Display modules. Each 16PBLEDMDM is totally supported by a single bus-connected 64-conductor flat cable from its 8MDDI card including: data, addressing, read/write commands, and SVDC power. ‘The associated 8MDDI is assigned a block of eight addresses in the Controller Processors /O address space with the constraint that the least significant digit of the address be either 0 or 8 when expressed in hexadecimal format. Final address selection is made by a “one-of-eight” jumper selection at each display module associated with the 8MDDI card such that each set of sixteen digital channels are uniquely addressed. Note: In the case of the I6PBLEDMDM, the LEDs and switches can share the same HEX address because one set is a write operation while the other is a read operation. This originates from the corresponding CBOS digital output and digital input Special Function Modules. Troubleshooting Information: None of the Switches or LEDs are functioning: Check the associated 8MDDI card for proper address selection and that both read and write diagnostic LEDs are flashing if applicable. Check the display module for the proper address selection. Check the flat cable and connections. An Individual switch or an LED is not functioning: Because the switches are solid state devices, they can only be tested with a voltmeter while under power. Actuating the switch should cause the output to change from +5V to OV. They can not be repaired. LEDs are in twist-Lock sockets for easy replacement. Being diodes, LEDs are polarity sensitive and the positive (anode) lead should be located uppermost in the socket. The positive lead is the longer of the two leads. It is also the smaller of the two internal leads (not the lead on which the LED die is mounted). 10 a | [oracwsoo—rreazye= eS oed aed © <- AL AS NB WULNGOLENOO ale) ore-vso0-rs3z “ON va PE Pete RATE | g m | oI. 8 1 © c Cc 2. sf Fl [ore-vs00—rrca = SND | son noo] ohbul ia era en aVoaunoete ute [enarseael] BCCCEPEEE ELE oitelie dyed § a ch ea Ht} RN sSiseisisisssish wl, al. If connected to the FT50 Main Board, the same flat cable will be used and will be connected to the 384 slot. ‘The associated 8MDDI is assigned a block of eight addresses in the Controller Processors I/O address space with the constraint that the least significant digit of the address be either 0 or 8 when expressed in hexadecimal format. This address is dedicated in the FT50 Main Board and for further information please refer to the ZE544-050L-001 or ZES44-050L-002 manual. Final address selection is made by a “one-of-eight” jumper selection at each display module associated with the 8MDDI card, or the FT50 Main Board, such that each set of sixteen digital channels are uniquely addressed. The 32LEDMDM has two such jumper selection provisions, one for each set of 16 LEDs. FLEXITREND BLOCK DIAGRAM: LED MULTIPLEXED DISPLAY MODULE. If this procedure has been completed once before, and was saved on disk, the user may proceed to Step 21 and download the file. Calibration of this card is difficult to accomplish in a working program because it requires the writing of stable values to the card to control the output for calibration. Therefore, it is recommended that the program is written using CBOS100 (Revision 9.8 and up) that allows the calibration of this card to be performed. Before beginning this procedure remember to: ‘© Make sure a copy of the systems’ program is available to reload into the system once this procedure is completed. © Do not write this calibration program into the operational program. ‘© Write this calibration program on a blank disk and save it for future use. © Once this test program is written, download the program into the correct controller. © The tuning program must be used to write the desired values into the channels to calibrate the outputs. © Once the calibration procedure is complete, the system configuration, controller, and tuning constant files must be downloaded. The entire system must then be restarted. Writing The Analog Output Calibration Program The program will contain only one task (Analog Output, Sequential), which will be located in Time Class 1. 1. If the signal is incorrect by more than -+4OmV, then the FTSO Main Board (ZE544-050A-002) requires repair. Please make the necessary arrangements to have the FT50 Main Board retumed to En—Tronic Controls for repair. 11. The Analog Input Card provides 16 inputs to the FT50 Main Board (ZE544-050A-001). These 16 analog inputs can be any combination of 0 to 4V or 4 to 20 mA. FEATURES + Conditioning + Current Limiting + Over-Voltage Protection LGeneral; ‘The ZE544-050A-500 is an interface card which provides the connections for analog devices to the FT50. Each input point has a switch used to indicate if the input is 0 to 4V or 4 to 20 mA. ‘These switches must be set properly so that the FT50 can process the input correctly. Power can be supplied to the extemal field sensors by connecting 24V to the card. A maximum of two (2) Analog Input cards can be used with a single FT50 Main Board (ZES544-050A-001). A shielded ribbon cable must be used to connect the Analog Input card to the FT50 Main Board. The drain wire, of the shielded ribbon cable, is terminated to the shield connector on the Analog Input card.
