Darrag #1

Interviewing Ernest Cline

Set on the red carpet of the movie release in Comic Con San Diego, California. Late Night; Reporter in a white
dress with pink details around the shoulder. Cline is wearing a black blazer jacket on a Ready Player One
comic t- shirt, Dior glasses, and a green pair of pants.

Tia: “Hello Mr. Cline, I am Tia Darrag, a reporter from IMDB and I am here today to conduct an interview with
you regarding your best seller “Ready Player One” that recently hit cinemas worldwide and had one of the best
movies opening we as fans have ever seen! Firstly sir, how have you been taking this all?”

Cline: “Hello Tia, I am very very excited to be talking with you here today! Words can’t describe what I am
feeling right now, this is really a dream come true. You know its every kid’s dream to be famous one day, I used
to always dream about it myself actually, the lights, cameras, red carpets, and by the way can I just say I love
your dress today it is truly stunning!”

Tia: “What a compliment Ernest! Okay some context for you folks watching us on TV, I have known Mr. Cline
for quite some time now, we are very close as I graduated from his high school, shout out Ashland High School,
go grizzlies! Hahahahah, of course he is like 10 years older bu...”

Cline (cutting her): “Hey, I am not that old hahahah, no Tia’s dad, Mr. Logard, was my creative writing
teacher for like 4 years in high school and that is actually what got me into writing, and of course his daughter
graduates to become the best reporter on IMDB.”

Tia: “Oh, thank you so much! Well, Let me start by asking, what do you think of Spielberg’s picture, do you
think it checked all your boxes as an author?”

Cline: “Yes, for sure! Spielberg did an amazing job of producing such a great image, it really did hit all the
marks. The idea was to grab audience of all levels, we weren’t targeting children only but also young adults and
adults who could definitely benefit from understanding what this book is truly about! I went along and saw the
picture when it was in production and should I say I was amazed, Spielberg tried to use all the cinematic
elements he had to show off the depth of theme in the novel and how far it goes in explaining what life we are in
and why we would choose it with all the other alternatives!”

Tia: “and how did you feel working with this great crew and was it hard relaying your idea of the novel to
them?”

Cline: “All the cast are truly great people, I am really honored to have met them and worked with them for what
27 weeks hahah!, Of course my vision of the novel just got better when Spielberg added his touch to the story
but it was fairly a simple process, most; if not all of the crew was excited to take part in this movie and we all
found a way to work it out to what we hope you guys love as much as we did!”

Tia: “That is truly amazing, we all saw the movie here on opening day, we don’t want to go about it and spoil it
for the fans, but we have to ask this question, is there going to be a second part to this phenomenon?”

Cline: “I mean that is a very good question, this movie did take a lot of time and effort to produce, that being
due to the modifications we did in the plot for dramatic reasons that the fans are going to be able to witness, it
also required a very high budget due to the amazing graphics work within the movie; of course shout out to the
awesome graphics team who spent a very long time modifying the VFX features to come out with something as
innovative as this, so the idea of a second part is of course contingent on the feedback the fans give us on this
one, but it’s always in the corner of our eyes! Pretty sure Spielberg would love a break now though
ahahahhaha!”

Tia (faces screen): “Here you got it folks, exclusively on IMDB, the potential for a second part is there, don’t
miss out on the one of the top, if not the top movie of the year, “Ready Player One”, out in cinemas March 29th,
2018. That was Tia today with Mr. Ernest Cline live with IMDB from the red carpet, Thank you so much and
see you on the next one!”
