that appears.
The picture will then be displayed (with handles to show that it is selected).

Hyperlinks can be added to link pages and documents together. To add a hyperlink, click on an
object with the left mouse button and then choose Hyperlink from the Insert menu.
If you want to add a hyperlink to another document or web page, enter the name of that document or
page in the Link to file or URL box or click on the Browse button to the right. For example, you can
enter 'C:\My Documents\Circuit.spk' or 'http://www.myhomepage.com/example.html'.
Once a document has been linked to, you should not move or delete the document file as Bright
Spark will no longer be able to find the link. If you plan to move the document containing the link as
well as the linked document, you should keep the relative directory structure between them the same
and enable the Use relative path for hyperlink option (see below).
You can link to a different page or to an anchor by entering the page or anchor name in the Named
location in file box, or by clicking on the Browse button to the right of this box (in which case a
window will appear allowing you to select the required target).
In the Mes age box you can enter text that will appear as a pop-up hint when the cursor is held over
the linked object.
When Use relative path for hyperlink is enabled, Bright Spark will store the location of the linked
file relative to the document containing the link. This allows the link to remain valid even when the files
are moved, so long as the relative directory structure between them remains the same. You should
always use relative references if you are planning to distribute electronic books to other users.
Enabling the Display as pop-up document option will display the linked page or document in a
pop-up window whenever it is selected.
To add a header and footer to your document choose Header and Footer from the View menu.

Bright Spark makes it possible to create electronic books and courseware. You could, for example,
produce classroom worksheets and course notes that are instantly accessible to your students.
Electronic books are created by adding together text and pictures along with circuit designs. These
can then be linked together with hyperlinks and searching to produce interactive on-line courseware.
The help you are now reading is just such an electronic book and was produced in Bright Spark.

Authoring electronic books
Creating electronic books
Electronic books within Bright Spark consists of a folder containing a collection of individual files. A
special Books folder (located within the installation folder) holds each electronic book.
Once created or installed, a book will appear in the Help menu from which it can be selected.
Once created, you can distribute an electronic book by copying all of the files within your book folder
and installing it within the Books folder of another copy of Bright Spark.
Tips
For quick access to authoring tools, choose Author from the View | Toolbars menu.
When adding hyperlinks within an electronic book, always use relative file references.
If you wish to use the same picture more than once, use external linked pictures to reduce the
size of your book. Linking pictures allows many pages to use the same physical picture file.
To prevent users from modifying your electronic book, you can protect all of the documents that
make up the book with a password.
