I. Objectives:
1. Give examples that illustrates hazards, exposure and vulnerabilities in various
elements;
2. Demonstrate how an elements become hazards, expose and vulnerable.

II. Subject Matter : Exposure and Vulnerability


A. References: Earth Science Book
B. Materials: Pictures, Projector, Laptop, Video clip
C. Concepts:
. hazard is any biological, chemical, mechanical, environmental or physical agent
that is reasonably likely to cause harm or damage to humans, other organisms, or the
environment in the absence of its control
Exposure refers to the 'elements at risk' from a natural or man-made hazard
event.
vulnerability to natural hazards is an integral factor in understanding the true
extent of risk. Although there is no single definition for vulnerability, it generally refers to
the impact a hazard has on people,

A.Engage: (Motivation: illustration of hazard, exposure, and vulnerability)


- What have you observed on the illustration?
The students are group into 6 groups
Group#1: Role Playing: act how various elements become hazard
Group#2: Poster Making: Draw a situation where various elements become
exposed to hazards.
Group#3: Collage Making: Cut out pictures that shows various elements become
vulnerable to hazard.
Group#4: Give observations on different task given/on different presentation
Group#5: Answer the given questions.

Using Map of Region XII, identify places considered as hazard, exposé and vulnerable
to disaster.
