STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I understand that in past few years, environmental concerns have come to attention, and have
pushed chemical engineers to ensure their action were sustainable, and as someone who has core
interest in chemistry and after completing graduation in Polymer Science and Chemical technology, I
feel environmentally responsible and with this reason I hope to enter in the Master program in
Professional engineering from The University of Western Australia, Australia. I am Nihit Mand, an
Indian resident holding a passport numberU7243674. Speaking of my family background- my mother
is a government servant in Niti Aayog, my brother is with a private firm Mancer Consulting Services
as an HR Consultant and my sister-in-law is associated with Telus International as Talent Acquisition
Specialist.

Talking about my academics,I have pursued Bachelor of Technology in Polymer Science and
Chemical Technology from Delhi Technological University with 7.39 CGPA on 10 point scale in the
year 2022 and before this I have completed the journey of my12th grade withScience Stream in
2018under the Central Board of Secondary Education and 10thin 2016 under the same board.

This course is a professionally accredited engineering degree for students who have completed
undergraduate studies in engineering. The course, designed in consultation with industry, equips
graduates with both outstanding technical skills and the ability to work creatively as part of a team
across the breadth of an engineering challenge.

The program at University of Western Australia will equip me with insight into most relevant topics
facing the chemistry industry, giving me the marketable skillset that I will need to obtain a position in
an industrial company in the current competitive job market. According to World University Rank
2023, Australia has some of the top-ranking universities in the world offering master’s in chemical
engineering.University of Western Australia has been my preferred choice as The QS World
University Rankings In 2023 year as under top 100 universities globally.

After my master’s program, I am envisioning myself as one of the top consultants, who will be able
to develop

sustainable strategies of using chemicals in our day-to-day life and bring profits to my company. The
winning techniques and the business prospects taught during the course will be guiding me in facing
the challenges. As the next few years of automobile industry in India is expected to grow at US$54.84
billion by 2027. The scope of growth for chemical engineers is going to increase tremendously in
next few years in India. With companies like Tesla investing in India the need of chemical engineers
will be higher in India. Hence after completing my Masters this course will enable me come back to
India and join the industry at senior position with higher and better package. I will an opportunity to
work with companies like UPL, Coromandel Future Positive, Tata chemicals, Pidilite. With this
course, I will be able to become successful as it offers an average salary of 20-25 lakhs INR.

At present the study model of university with chemical engineering in India has more theoretical
concepts than the practical concepts, also the average placements of these colleges are
comparatively low, which results in moving in different job fields than pursuing jobs in chemical
engineering. I want to work in industry that promotes growth for Chemical engineers, by doings
Masters from Australia, I would gain the expertise which will help me get placement at higher salary
in India itself. As India is top exporter of organic and in organic chemicalsand is now alsoemerging as
fastest growing economy in manufacturing and auto industry with top companies like Tesla, Apple
investing in India, this course will help me develop skills that will later help me contribute in
development of our country’s economy. Personally, I also feel responsible towards my family who
have always gone beyond limits to invest in my education.

I want to lastly state that I would abide by the rules and regulations of Australia. My purpose is to
get best education in Australian Universities which will enhance my job prospects and instil finest
skills in me and contribute to my own country after my return to my homeland as a qualified
professional. I have also read visa conditions and Ministerial Direction that I am required to comply. I
would be grateful if my visa application gets approved.

Nihit
