SAFETY

Every equipment / component are manufactured and tested to meet our high standards
of quality control and conform to current occupational health and safety standards.
Please follow the instructions given by this manual carefully, and we are confident
that the result will be many years of successful operation.
You will note that health and safety has a prominent place in this manual. Whilst it is
GERICKE’s responsibility to bring all the relevant dangers and necessary
precautions to your attention, it is ultimately your responsibility to ensure the
equipment is operating correctly to protect your staff.
Particular attention should be paid to the following points concerning the safe use of
each equipment in general:

 Every equipment is designed in accordance with the latest construction


standards. It can however be dangerous if put to inappropriate use.
 Each equipment may exclusively be used for storage, conveying or metering of
bulk goods and not intended for applications beyond this. GERICKE is unable
to accept any liability for damage resulting if equipment is put to use beyond its
intended purpose. The risk involved if this is done must be borne by the user.
 Anybody involved with the assembly, disassembly, start-up, operation and
maintenance of any equipment in the plant must have read and understood this
manual, in particular aspects on safety precautions.
 The user must ensure that no unauthorized persons work on or start any
equipment or system as a whole.
 Any work to be carried out on any equipment involving assembly, disassembly,
start-up, operation, rearrangement, adjustment and maintenance should only be
done so when the power supply to the machine has been switched off.
 Work on equipment is only to be carried out when it is not in operation.
 Once electrical assembly and maintenance have been completed, safety
measures should be checked (eg limit switches, earthing resistance etc).
 Unauthorized alterations and modifications influencing the safety of any
equipment is not permitted.
