WHEREAS, there is a need to provide opportunities, within the national tradition for practicing sports towards the development of physical fitness and the attainment of a level of achievement which corresponds to the individual’s talents; WHEREAS, statistics reveal that many young people are commonly involved in the rising tide of criminality, drug addiction, alcoholism and similar vices; WHEREAS, there is a need to initiate programs which would redirect these young people’s idleness, rechannel their interest and transform them into useful and productive citizens; WHEREAS, a comprehensive sports program under a competent office could be the crucial which shall initiate, conduct and coordinate sports activities in the City which would produce and further develop athletes for future competitions, both local and international; w esl
