ABSTRACT
• Aim of this paper is to integrate the mechanical system of hydraulic press with
hydraulic system to facilitate the ease of operation to manufacture the smaller parts
in a bulk.
• Auto Control in 250 Ton Hydraulic Press, We Get accurate/latest version of
Control plan, SOP and Drawings online at a touch of a button. Monitor the life of
Tools and alert user for tool change.
• Alert users on Gauge Calibration.
• Automatically capture the machine down times.
• Automatically get the Part Counts and alert user for QA readings at appropriate
intervals.
• Periodic and Timely alerts to Supervisors on the overall performance of the shop
floor.
• Alert Maintenance team, Supervisor and other concerned on Major events such as
Downtime.

As part of the quality systems the following activities are performed by the
Operators, Supervisors and HODs on daily basis for every Shift.

Collecting Control plan, Check Sheet, Drawing and SOP documents before
starting the Shift.

FOA and Check Sheet entry at predefined Frequency in Control Plan.

Updating production log on Hourly basis.

Maintaining Downtime details with reasons.

QDHS data entry at the end of shift.

Daily Production report.

Data Entry into SAP Systems.

Benefits of Smart Floor
Supervisor need not spend his valuable time at the beginning of the shift to
get SOP, Check Sheet, and Control Plan documents. Latest versions of these
documents are available online to the Operator and Supervisor right at the
control panel installed near the machine.

System will ensure, the quality checks are done as per Control plan at regular
intervals by stopping the production of further parts till the check sheet is
entered.

Automatically capture the Machine Downtime.

Online display of Progress along with Efficiency at which the Machine is


running.

Alerts via SMS and email at regular intervals to inform Supervisor, HOD and
DGM on Efficiency, Downtime and out of range values in check sheet.

Single Data entry will update all the ISO / TS and Management reports.
Avoids multiple personnel creating the same data for different purposes.

CONCLUSION
 In conclusion, implementing an auto control plan for a 250-ton hydraulic press
offers numerous advantages in terms of efficiency, safety, and productivity.
 By integrating automated controls, the press can operate with precision, reducing
the margin for error and ensuring consistent and accurate results.
 This level of control also allows for faster production cycles, as manual
adjustments and interventions are minimized.
 This leads to improved operational efficiency, reduced downtime, increased
product consistency, and ultimately, a competitive edge in the manufacturing
industry.
