INSTRUCTIONS FOR OPERATING AND INSTALLING 3-POINT HITCH (BDL. NO. BM15158) ON JOHN DEERE 140 HYDROSTATIC TRACTORS ORM M374~767 conTENts \ASSEMBLY .. INSTALLATION . ‘OPERATION . [Center Link) a. Cylinder Depth: bo Control Bracket} Draft Links ‘The 3-point adjustable rear hitch gives the 140 Hydrostatic Tractor increased versatility for use of tillage implementa. Mounting the hiteh on the tractor is quick and easy utilizing the quik-tach feature of 140 Tractor equipment. The hitch is raised and lowered hydraulically from the rear hydraulic system. On tractors with three hydraulic control levers, the center lever is used. Front wheel weights (Bundle No, MM15134 - 2 required) available as extra equip- ment should be used with all rear mounted equipment. ASSEMBLY 3-POINT HITCH INSTALLATION MOUNTING FERRULES L, Insert 5/8 x 2-3/4-inch drilled pin from outside through pipe spacer, draft link and sway chain arm. Secure with 3/16 x l-inch cotter pin. 2, Insert 5/8 x 2-1/4-inch drilled pin from Jeft through sway chain arm and draft link, Secure with 3/16 x L-inch cotter pin. 3. Assenble cylinder bedy with hose outlets at bottom to center bracket with 1/2 x 2-1fé~inch drilied pin. Secure vith small spring locking pin. 4, Position cylinder stap block over rod of cylinder and assemble to lift arm with 1/2 x 2-5/B-inch drilled pin in the #irat hole from the cylinder, Secure with small spring locking pin. 5, Assemble center Link @)tep hole of Lift yoke with 5/8 x 2-3/4—ineh.drill- ed pin. Secure with large spring lock- ing pin. =4- 2, Install mounting ferrules on each side of tractor hitch plate with 1/2 x 1-1/2- inch bolts. Use flat washer between bolt head and ferrule. Use lock washer be- tween nut and ineide of tractor hiteh plate. INSTALLING HITCH ON TRACTOR 1, Remove cover from PTO opening. Store in a safe place for future use after hitch is renoved. 2. If PEO extension drive shaft for the rotary tiller is installed, this assembly must be removed. See instructions in the Operator's Manual for the 33 Rotary Tiller. @or illustrated) 3, Lock spring loaded pins in extracted position. INSTALLATION (Cont) 4. Position hitch bracket on mounting ferrules and lift hitch against tractor hitch plate, Releose spring loaded ping. 5, Install hese from back of cylinder to top hydraulic coupler and hege from rod end of cylinder to bottom hydraulic coupler. 6. Gonnect dust plugs fron coupler and dust caps from hoses to keep out dirt. CYLINDER LOCK-OUT LINK FOR TRACTORS WITH SINGLE CONTROL LEVER (Bd1.No. AM31716) A eylinder Leck-out Link available as extra equipment is required for tractors with a single hydraulic control lever when using front or rear mounted hydraulically operated equipment. This lock-out link Prevents the rockshaft ¢ylinder from oper= ating thus allowing full hydraulic pressure to be used to operate the cylinder on the equipitenty This gtves—tustentareous-re- sponse of cylinders and eliminates float caused by untestricted movement of the rockshaft cylinder if not locked out. To install; have rockshaft cylinder fully retracted. Turn depth control knob on tractor deck ta lowest position so that rockshaft arms may be rotated to lowest position. Thigecan be done manual= ly if arms are not way down. 1, Install Link dn slot with ears outside tractor hiteh plate. 2. Fasten forward end to rockshaft tiller life arm with 3/8 x 1-L/4-inch drilled pin and spring locking pin. —— tse -hend-grease gun tu tubricate itt shaft bearings with SAE (seasonal grade) multi-purpose type grease every 10 hours of operation. Wipe fittings clean after lubrication, REMOVAL Disconnect cylinder hoses from hydraulic couplers, Place dust caps over hose ends and dust plugs into couplers. Pull spring loaded pins to extracted position. Allow hitch bracket to plyot downward and lift hitch off mounting ferrules.” Replace cover on PIO opéning in tractor fender deck NOTE: Mounting ferrules need not be renoved from tractor hitch plate.
