Target Audience & Competition

My Target audience is ages 16-20 as these are the people who seem
to have more time on their hands to watch films as well as are the
most interested in thriller and horror films. I found this out using my
secondary research as well as asking around people that I know;
those aged 22+ age weren’t very interested in my horror production
ideas.

Idea

Sophia(F), Gabriel(F), Chione(F), Dominic(M), Tallitha(F).

A group of 5 friends stay around at Gabriel's house. Gabriel’s house is

known to have lots of porcelain dolls in it and the group have been
debating for a bit of time if it's haunted. Dominic and Chione think it's
fine, however Tallitha and Sophia are adamant it is. Gabriel has no
say in this matter - the only thing she has to say is that all the dolls are
unique and each is loved equally. Finally, they gained the guts to stay
there for a night, however, little do they know, Gabriel has set up a few
scares for her friends. But things don’t go to plan and it seems that
Tallitha and Sophia were right. The group ends up getting far more
than they bargained for…

&
This idea is about someone who kind of believes in ghosts but is still
skeptical about their existence. They have been invited by their friend
to go to a supposedly haunted location where they experience a
series of paranormal activities forcing them to acknowledge the
existence of ghosts. The location they visit is going to be a forest
called “Forest of Koe” - “koe” meaning “voices” in japanese. By the
end of their investigation, they reflect and rethink their beliefs.

1
In the end I decided to merge 2 of my ideas. Idea 2 and & 4 have
similar stories therefore I can give 10 people a horror they liked
instead of 6 people A Pony’s Tale.

My story line is going to be 4 people go for a sleepover at one’s

house. This person has various dolls situated around their house in
various rooms - their friends think they are all haunted but the host
thinks otherwise. Throughout their stay, there have been some
strange occurrences. Due to this, they decide to try to contact a spirit.
Which further increases the paranormal activating occurring.

For this production, I will film it focusing on the raw reactions from the
actors. Instead of scripting the entire thing, I have a detailed plan of
what is going to occur as well as set the actors their own individual
goals. Then I will sit them down to watch a horror movie to get their
adrenaline up. Afterwards they will move into the living room and Start
playing typical sleepover games. What they won’t know is that I have
gotten someone to knock on doors, walk around the house and turn
lights on and off while they are there. So hopefully I will be able to
catch their genuine reactions on camera and we won’t have to go
through the pain of retakes because someone is giggling. I will also
have them play around with the pendulum and talk to a ghost.

Other Issues
With my production, I am going to be sure to not include anything
religious as that could cause offense to any religious people who
watch it if my research is wrong. Getting religious information
wrong is not something I want to risk doing.

Rules and Regulations

I also must make sure I do not trespass when filming as well as get
permission to film wherever I will film. I also need to be sure to get
consent from the actors to film them and put the final project on
YouTube & upload to RainDance. Since I am most likely going to
use actors aged 13-14 I also need to get permission from their
parents.
