Intermediate Grades

Week 1
Name: Junalyn G. Aligway Course/Year: BEED-II

I. Explain your understanding of the quote below.

EXPLANATION:

This statement essentially refers to what he perceived as the perversion of science for
governmental or corporate ends, namely greed and war. Basically, the quote asserts that all
worthwhile scientific investigations and discoveries take place primarily in academic settings, where
the goals of the research are to further the general understanding of a scientific field and to satisfy
pure and unadulterated intellectual curiosity. He believed that science conducted with an agenda,
such as making money or killing enemies (for practical purposes), is not true research.

EXPLAIN:
Express yourself by answering the following questions.
I. Make research on the K-12 Science Curriculum Guide
List down 5 Learning Competencies that includes nature discoveries or visits ( Nature
sceneries, Parks ect….)

1. Show how different sources of water are used in the context of daily activities.
2. Explain the significance of protecting and conserving tropical rainforests, coral reefs,
and mangrove swamps.
3. describe the natural objects found in the sky during the day and nightmare.
4. explain how different types of weather affect community activities.
5. list and practice safety and precautionary measures when dealing with various types of
weather.

II. As a future science teacher write a way in which you can motivate students to involve
themselves in scientific discoveries?
As a future science teacher, I encourage my students to participate in scientific
endeavors by making them feel like real scientists. Students develop self-esteem through
"role-playing," while also gaining scientific knowledge and building and developing social and
emotional roles that are essential for a well-rounded child. Experiment days, when students get
to use test tubes and beakers, are some of the most engaging days of the year as a result.
Apply activities to real-world scenarios. Students are much more engaged when they can see
how what they're learning in class can be applied in the real world.
III. Write your reflection on how nature contribute to your physical, emotional, intellectual,
social, and spiritual well-being?

Nature improves my physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. It makes me feel alive
on the inside, and we should not sacrifice it for modern advancements like urbanization,
technology, or social media. I am usually happier and more likely to report that my life is
meaningful when I am more connected to nature. Nature can elicit a variety of positive
emotions, such as calmness, joy, and creativity, as well as aid concentration.
