I. Application. Follow the guidelines carefully as stated below. Each item has a corresponding point for
every correct application. (10 pts.; -1 pt. for every unfollowed guideline)

1. Using your knowledge in various Publisher tools, create a custom 1-page card of your own using the
images included on the worksheet.

Requirements:
• You must only use the images included on this worksheet.
• The card must be a single page with a size of 8.5”x11” (Letter) in Landscape orientation.
• Usage of custom fonts are recommended. You can download custom fonts on various websites
(see dafont.com)
• A sample card is provided as basis for this activity. (see Hands-On-Card.pub)
• Save and submit the final product in an exported .PDF format with the following format as shown
below:

2. Same as the first activity; using your knowledge in various Publisher tools, create a custom postcard of
your own using your own custom images (images included in the worksheet may also be used). The
contents are all up to you.

Requirements:
• You can use your own images for this activity, whether it’s downloaded, own pictures, etc.
• Usage of custom fonts are recommended. You can download custom fonts on various websites
(see dafont.com)
• The card must be a single page, cut in half with a size of 8.5”x11” (Letter) in Landscape orientation.
• A sample card is provided as basis for this activity. (see Sample-Postcard-Nihon.pub)
• Save and submit the final product in an exported .PDF format with the following format as shown
below:

Score Criteria
The composition’s overall look and design is accurate, visually appealing as well as

10 - 7 professional looking, great color coordination is applied, overall production is fast and efficient
and appropriate tools are utilized effectively.

The composition’s overall look and design is nicely done but needs improvement; overall look,
design and colors used are good but not thoroughly coordinated in some parts; the design took

6-4 a lot of time to be done; tools are used but not utilized effectively and elements used for the
composition are fine but still needs some reediting to achieve the balance of looking good and
still being professional.

The overall look, design/feel and color coordination of the composition is visually unappealing,

3-1 unimpressive time management due to underutilization of tools, and the use of elements in the
design are improperly done and as a result looks unprofessional and distracting.
