Search and Rescue Transponder (SART) is a


radar-based device that assists in the
detection and location of survival craft or
distressed vessels. It helps search and rescue
teams locate the ship or its lifeboats.

5 NAVTEX RECEIVER

NAVTEX (Navigational Telex) is a system that


provides navigational and meteorological
warnings, forecasts, and other important
information to ships. The NAVTEX receiver
onboard receives these messages.

6 INMARSAT OR IRIDIUM SATELLITE
COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

These satellite communication systems allow


ships to establish communication with shore
authorities, other ships, and rescue
coordination centers in remote areas where
terrestrial communication is limited.
