ISSUES IN MODERN LAW ENFORCEMENT 2
The rapid evolution of modern law enforcement results from the new challenges that face
different criminal justice components accompanied by public and media increased scrutiny.
Therefore, various challenges face law enforcement to redefine the profession since policing
never applies the term “business as usual” due to instant landscape change. Such law
enforcement issues in criminal justice include Police transparency and recruitment of officers.
Lack of police transparency enhances the non-existence of hard precedent to protect public
servant's information shared in course and scope of duty. Therefore, reasonable expectation of
privacy has become obsolete since law enforcers currently view all information as public records
regardless of source. Recruitment of officers represents another issue that arises in the criminal
justice law enforcement component (Khusanbaev, 2021). Police leaders hiring strategies often
contribute to the law enforcement crisis as finding recruits and retention of seasoned officers
struggle continues. The two corrections policies in criminal justice include prison overcrowding
and funding gaps. Some reports normally indicate a consistent decline in inmate populations in
consecutive years however the reports only contain inaccurate and old information that can not
reflect the nationwide inmate population, therefore, one fails to understand the reason behind
overcrowded prisons despite the overall dropping of inmate population suggestion. However
thorough investigation describes that most inmates who pose the lowest threat to society get
released hence the ones considered more dangerous tend to remain consistent in prisons. The
problem worsens due to the lack of high-security facilities to house the most dangerous inmates
due to the expensiveness of the high-security facilities meant for overcrowding dispersal.
Funding gaps represent another issue in courts of criminal justice. An increase in funding rarely
results from funding no matter how good the economy is since corrections often depict money-
saving sources during budget cuts requirements. As a result, there exists no understanding of the

argument of prioritizing adequate funding to run prisons over children's education or offering
support to the needy. On the other hand, prisons require a lot of resources to build hence
expensive with expensive maintenance one operational especially for the designed facilities
meant to house the most dangerous inmate population. As a result, there exists prioritization of
Delays and threats represent the two issues in the court system of criminal justice.
Defence normally depends on time as witnesses sometimes withdraw or pass away or even the
fading of the case by public interest. The Court system’s delays normally manifest themselves in
form of the defendant's illness or other trial important parties. Defence team conflict scheduling
also results in repeated trial delays. The change of stories by the witnesses also causes a delay in
the court's system. Therefore, witness reliance requires reduction with documentary reliance
increase for effective use of documents that provide a clear narrative of their relevance
(Hall,2017). Other factors that facilitate court systems delay include sudden documents overflow
filled by the defense and interim appeals. The need for the defense to look at all the prosecution
documents requires clear document disclosure guidelines and strong courts. Interim appeals n the
other hand consume trial times that proper management structures can avoid through extensive
pre-trial proceedings. Interim appeals might result in sending the court case back to the
beginning by the judges especially in corruption cases that require a bench or jury trial.
However. practice guidelines can generally regulate court system delays causes and
manifestations. Court review time limits get established among other things for indictments and
first hearing scheduling due to good external experiences with a single judge system who
oversees the whole investigation office to keep delays track and their reason.

Threats as the second issue in the court system criminal justice not only apply to victims
and witnesses but also the case handlers that comprise of judges, investigators, and prosecutors.
Combination of different threats sometimes gets applied sequentially for instance in escalation to
exert them through the justice system (Татаріна,2020)To some extent, threats get converted like
threats of different combinations that get other positions promotion. As a result, there exists too
little involvement in a case by goodwill ambassadors to avoid taking any risks. Therefore,
challenges occur to assess the actual actions meant as threats with genuine concern. Tracing the
origin of overt threats that manifest themselves through various channels of communication
sometimes proves difficult. The threats of the court system in criminal justice often result in
public criticism especially from the politicians who threaten the court's system with judicial
activism decry. The threats also blast the federal judges of the court's system for their purported
bounds overstepping. However the criticisms of the court's system as a result of the threats
policy sometimes result in the independence of the court systems in criminal justice.
