I partially agree that Rosabell has the right to be angry as she is struggling to balance out work and

personal life and she also overworks herself like when “she had to run up, breathlessly”. The adverb
“breathlessly” shows she is overworking herself and she is trying to make a living, which suggests
that she is poor as she is in working class. She is not only overworking herself but she is mixing her
mind up with work and as we carry on with the story, work is taking over her mind, which is causing
negative emotions to come through. The writer adds this to show reader’s how working too hard can
lead to mental health problems. This also can relate to some reader so the writer is giving them
comfort to show reader that others are going through the same problems.

Another reason why I partially agree is that the red-head girl is spoilt with luxurious items, but most
importantly she is given freedom. The customer was exuberant when she saw the unique hat and
screamed with excitement “I must have that”, which shows that she expects for everyone to obey
her. She demands Rosabell and Harry for her to take it, which shows Harry and Rosabell has no
voice. The writer is demonstrating an example of power and how it is being handled. The noun
“that” infers that she is calling Rosabell’s hat a ‘thing’ or something that is not precious, however we
as the reader know how much labour went into that hat. By this red-head girl calling it ‘that’ can
suggest that she doesn’t appreciate people’s hard work or maybe she owns many luxurious items
and she is only buying that hat just for the pleasure of it. The writer is picturing the red-heired girl’s
life as we can imagine her owning lots of hats. When Harry suggests a hat for the red-haired girl, he
suggests something sublime, which gives us as the reader an idea that the red-haired girl has many
opulent items and that is why Harry is trying hard to give her a unique hat. Furthermore, the writer
has not gave the girl a name to show readers many people have freedom and it cant just .
