TELUE ENGINEERING INSTITUTE

Lecture Plan

Subject: CEB 211 Structural Mechanics Semester/Year: 1/2016

Lecturer: Professor Yaip K Telue PhD

Contact Hours: 3 Hours/week

Credit Points: 3

Assumed Knowledge (A): First Year Engineering Mechanics

Prerequisite: CEB 112 Engineering Mechanics II

Co requisite: NIL

Learning Objectives (LO):

On completion of this subject, the student should be able to:

LO1. To develop an understanding of the distribution of internal forces within determinate trusses
and Frames. A high level of proficiency in analysing determinate structures is to be attained.
LO2. To foster the development of a thorough knowledge of the performance of structural
engineering materials in response to stress and strain;
