 CAS (Credit Authorization Scheme, 1960s) – now removed – a
form of negative ‘Selective Credit Control’ (Qualitative Monetary
Policy Tool) - all commercial banks had to obtain prior approval of
the RBI before loaning > ₹ 1 crore to a single borrower.
Replaced by Consumer Credit Control (a positive ‘Selective Credit
Control’ method) – in which, during deflation, RBI relaxes the EMI
instalment norms to boost consumption and demand.
 Deen Dayal SPARSH Yojana – Ministry of Communications -
students (class 6-9) given scholarship for philately.
 Partial Credit Guarantee Scheme (PCGS) (2019) - If Public Sector
Banks invested in NBFCs/MFIs (who borrowed money by issuing
Bonds/Commercial Papers), but borrowers default. Then, the
Government covered 10% of loss of PSBs.

RBI
(Statutory Bodies – DICGC,
 Retail Direct Scheme (2021) – by RBI, RBI permits RDG accounts
(Retail Direct Gilt) for retail investors on its E-Kuber online
platform. Retail investors can directly buy G. Secs. / T. Bills
/SDLs /Sovereign Gold Bonds from RBI.
 Priority Sector Lending (1968) – Introduced by RBI

Finance Ministry

 Indradhanush Plan for Recapitalization of PSBs (2015-18) - Dept.
of Financial Services. Individual PSB will get funding based on
performance.
 PMJJB (Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana) – Dept. of
Financial Services. 1 year Term Life Insurance Policy, 18-50 yrs
age, NRIs eligible, covers all types of deaths, ₹ 2 lakhs
compensation upon death.
 PMSBY (Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana) - Dept. of
Financial Services. 1-year Term ‘Accident cum Death’ Insurance,
18-70 yrs, NRIs eligible, ‘non- suicidal, non-drugs related’ deaths
eligible, maximum ₹ 2 lakhs compensation.

Agriculture Ministry
 Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (2016) – under Agriculture
Ministry, against natural calamities, pests, diseases. Different
premiums for different crops of Kharif & Rabi season.
Health Ministry
 Ayushman Bharat (2018) - two components –
1. Transform PHCs (Primary Health Care Centres) into Health &
Wellness Centres.
2. PM-JAY (PM Jan Arogya Yojana) – covers 10 crore families (8
crore in rural, total ~50 crore people). Free insurance upto ₹ 5
lakh per family per year, for secondary and tertiary treatment. All
pre-existing diseases, pre/post hospitalization, medicine expenses
covered. Govt to setup hospitals in aspirational districts for
treatment of PM-JAY beneficiaries with the help of Health Cess on
Imported Medical Devices. PM-SEHAT – Same scheme for all J&K
residents.

Commerce Ministry

 NIRVIC Scheme (2019) (Niryat Rin Vikas Yojana) Scheme) – Under
ECGC of Commerce Ministry, protects banks from loan failures of
exporters.
