Capstone Update #3

At the end of the week, I plan to start putting information into a Canva design from my original capstone

booklet. I plan to finish getting all of my information updated on my original financial guide on word and

then figuring out how to transfer the content and images over to Canva. I will also play around more

with the features of Canva to see how I can use the best layouts and designs to make my guide stand out

and look nicely formatted. My needs are going to be that I will need to spend at least a few hours a day

on my capstone. I plan to work at home in my room on my computer. At school, I will work in my careers

class as well as with my support teacher, Ms. Thandi. I will need an internet connection and a computer

to be able to do my work. I won’t need to contact anyone regarding the information within my capstone

as I have completed and updated all my interviews that I conducted earlier on. Obstacles that I

anticipate are any technical difficulties I might have using Canva, and time management as anything

unexpected could come up at any time. My progress for the week is that I was able to get 4 out of 11

pages done for my financial guide on Canva. The skills that I employed were creative thinking. I will need

to “generate new ideas and concepts that are novel and innovative in the context in which they are

generated, reflect on their value.” I will also need to think critically and reflect on my learning by

developing ideas. My ideas may lead to the “designing of products or methods or the development of

performances and representations in response to problems, events, issues, and needs.” I hope that my

financial guide for young people can be helpful to someone in society to be able to make responsible

financial decisions by having information that is important for young adults to know. The challenges that

I encountered were to create more unique ideas for my guide to develop it more than I had originally. I

did hit a bit of a roadblock, but hope some more time, thinking, and conversations with teachers and my

parents might help me move forward.
