NOTIFICATION
New Delhi, the 5th February, 2019
G.S.R. 107(E).—In exercise of powers conferred by Section 3 of the Essential Commodities Act,
1955 (10 of 1955), read with clause 6 of Motor Spirit and High Speed Diesel (Regulation of Supply and
Distribution and Prevention of Malpractices), Order, 2005, and in supersession of the notification of the
Government of India in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas number G.S.R. 580 (E) dated 20th
September, 2006, except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such supersession, the Central
Government hereby directs Oil Marketing Companies to sell ten per cent ethanol blended petrol, or any
percentage specified by the Government, as per Bureau of Indian Standards specifications, in the following
States and Union Territories, namely :—

2. This Notification shall come into force with effect from 1st April, 2019.
3. The Central Government may, suo motu, or on a reference made to it, after due consideration of facts,
by an order, modify the areas and the percentage of ethanol in the ethanol blended petrol that may be supplied
and specify the period for the same.
